I know there's a lot of speculation on soft openings but I was wondering how you actually know one is happening. Are there signs when you come into the park? Do you happen to walk by the ride and see people out front? Is there announcements? I know sometimes they only have them going for a couple of hours so wanted to know how hard I had to look.

I ve only been in the park twice and got to do a soft opening

When Shrek did a soft opening, TM's put up a stand up board that listed the soft opening

Was directed to the line to use and told there would be some waiting in that line until the inside filled up

Easy peasy

Next ride I was able to do on a different trip was for TF

Board sign out front of the entrance line with TM's telling the group that soft opening would be done at various times that day and do not stand in the front of ride entrance until the board signs are out out

I did ask a TM if they had any idea when it would be open

Was told they would not know until the supervisor informed them
But one told us it could be ready within the hour

Sometimes if you are in the right place at the right time, you can do a soft opening
Do realize they can stop the ride anytime if they feel more tweets need to be done

Hope all of you get lucky and will be there when skull island starts soft openongs

When Despicable Me opened as a soft opening, we just happened to be strolling by and got in line - wasn't advertised or anything so guess we were one of the first to ride.

I was there for the TF softs. Mac, we might have been in line together and didn't even know it!

So you were the one that pinched my butt.........jk

I always wondered who it was

FJ didn't have anything like that, just the whole area in general was opened for the public for a certain amount of time before the official opening. That's how I remember it at least. However, as Mac said, I noticed some days it would be not available. Probably not only due to needing to fix things up (as I remembered the ride did sometimes break down, or stop briefly during the ride a lot), but also due to the massive crowd.

I would imagine it would be the same thing for Kong. You just never know until you're there and word of mouth spreads the news, or someone is willing to perhaps post about it on here, but like has been said in other posts, it can stop whenever. It may happen one day, stop the next, or even the same day.
