Well after speaking with a few TM's today I am actually glad DA isn't open. They said the line to just get to the turnstile was about 5 hours long right after WWoHP opened. I'm a fan but I am not a fan of that! I'll catch it next year if we make it back!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have no desire to be a part of that! I love HP but that looks like a hot mess!!! (Sorry, I have had the post Disney blues and haven't been on in a while) Thank you for the pictures!

Those pictures are INSANE. Hopefully DA will be nothing like that when we go in December, or else I won't be seeing it. Everything else in the park must have been walk-ons!
Here's my question for those who were at the opening of WWoHP.. if you had early entry how did you go about bypassing those waiting for the park to open at the regular hours? We will be there July 16, 17, & 18 for early entry and I have no idea what to expect. Is there a separate line for those resort guests who can enter early? If so where was it last time?
Oh my gosh at those lines!!
We are going one month exactly after opening day, so I hope it will kind of be died down a tiny bit.. but my hopes are not up.
Most if not all of those pictures were from opening day. I've read several reports from people who were there that day who said it was a great day to visit the parks as long as you didn't want to go to WWOHP. Everything was else was a walk-on.
I expect Universal learned a lot from Hogsmead opening and are doing thing at least a little bit differently this time. For example, the big star studded event has already happened.
Also at least some fans who did not have a pleasant experience in 2010 will wait until after opening day, and presumably the mob will be at least marginally spread a bit more.
I was at WWOHP the Monday after it opened. I did not have early entry or express pass. I stood in line for about an hour to enter the area. On the following days they handed out return time tickets so you didn't have to stand in line to get in.
I expect similar circumstances for DA. If you get there early then you should have good luck.

I expect Universal learned a lot about their poor planning when WWoHP opened a few years ago...at least I hope so. To be fair...they didn't expect the kind of crowds that showed up. There will still be snags but hopefully nothing like what happened before.
Those lines are crazy! We're going to be there on Tues. Wed will be our first park day. We're staying onsite and will have EE. If the lines are crazy like that how would we go about getting through them for EE? How early should we arrive?
