Does Sea World ever do soft openings for their exhibits? We're going next Saturday and wondering if there's a chance we'll be able to see Turtle Treck.

If you are going on the 21st - it is very doubtful that you would be able to see it.

When we were there April 27 was still the date.

Also, pass holders can get in an hour earlier to see it from April 28 - May 2

They did a soft opening today (Wednesday), but only for a few hours. From what I hear, they may or may not do another one Thursday. So if you are there, you might want to wander over to TurtleTrek and ask if they are running it.

Turtle Trek opens to the public on April 27th. Passholders will be given special showings at 8am starting April 28th thru May 2nd.

I didn't really care for turtle trek. The video looks like a computer animation, not realistic at all. Some of the 3-d near the end of the show as off/blurry. When I first walked in, it was so dark that I couldn't where I was walking that well. One child I was with found a few parts scary and was crying. Another child I was with didn't even stay for the show. The wait time said 30 min but it was really 50 min. I won't be going back.

We saw it over the weekend. Not impressed! I really enjoyed the old way were you can spend as long as you wanted viewing the manatees underwater. Now you are herded like cattle into a room with too many people to wait for 10 minutes. And then into the next room to wait for 10 minutes, before you are packed into the "theater". We saw several children leaving crying. Not at all sensory friendly.

I went to Turtle Trek at 6:45 p.m. tonight (Sea World closed at 7:00 p.m.) and there were very few people in the exhibit or movie theater. We still only had 10 minutes per area but at least there was plenty of room for everyone to stand in front of the glass wall to view the manatees & turtles.

The movie was scary for my DS8 (a crab is threatening to eat a baby turtle and a shark threatens to eat an adult turtle.) The movie has scary music as well besides visuals.

After the movie, you go to the above ground viewing area of the turtles. There are 2 areas where you can play a wii type game (4 people per station.) We didn't have any lines but this is probably packed during the day and I don't even want to think about the lines this summer.
