I keep reading about Everest possibly having a soft opening before the grand opening in April. Can someone explain to me what a "soft opening" entails?

Thanks!

hi,
i will give it a try,but i could be wrong.i believe it's when they open the ride before the scheduled date, but i think its only open for a few hours in the peak time of day.like the afternoon, when the offical openind day comes they will have a small little opening cermony, like 10-20 mins long and then it will have the same hours as the park hours.anyone else what to correct me,if i got it wrong?

The soft openings are when they are still testing the ride. It won't be guaranteed to be operating and could shut down suddenly for a prolonged period of time. So if you were waiting for 2 hours to get on it and something happened, you would have to leave until they reopened the ride and line sometime later. As it gets closer to the actual opening, the amount of time the ride is open gets longer.

Thanks to the great info on these boards my DS and I were able to do "soft openings" for five days at Mission: Space. During the day it was closed and nothing appeared to be happending except for some work going on. As evening approached the barriers was opened just enough to allow people through. The waits were quite long as they were still testing the ride, but it was quite an experience to ride MS before it was "officially" opened for everyone. Keep reading these boards for info on Everest.

I was also able to do MS .I was told to just keep an eye for a couple of guys out front they would let just enough people in for 1 ride at a time .
