Soft Bread Sticks
1 pkg. dry yeast (regular or fast acting)
1-1/2 cups warm Water
1 tsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Honey
3 - 4 cups Flour (white or whole wheat)
½ cup (1 stick) Butter or Margarine
Parmesan Cheese (fresh grated)
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt and honey to yeast and let set for 5 minutes or until puffy'. Stir in flour(s) until you have a workable consistency.
Knead dough lightly on a floured surface. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces. Using hands, roll each piece into a stick, then place the sticks crosswise into
an oiled 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour melted butter or margarine over tops of bread sticks. Top with Parmesan cheese and let rise for 15 - 20 minutes in a warm
place. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.
