Sofa beds?! Really?

Studios at OKW have two queens in the studio.

A CM at MS told me that the studios at OKW have 2 queens in the dedicated rooms (and that was our experience), but 1 queen bed and then a queen sized sofabed in the lockoff studio rooms.

I have a question regarding the sofabeds. Are the sheets already on them or do you have to request extra sheets and pillows if you want to use the bed?

Sheets were in the closet in a big sheet bag along with the pillows, in our OKW experience. I'm not a germaphobe at all, but even I'd need to wash sheets that were on a folded up sofabed upon checkin, for fear that the housekeeper didn't know the sofabed had been used and didn't change those sheets.

nah - MS was mistaken in this case. all OKW studios have 2 queens.

It's just my DW and I so..... we love the sofa bed. :cool1:

It is never made into a bed, but it is a comfortable place to sit while enjoying a cocktail in the evening. Much better than sitting on another bed or a hard chair. popcorn::

Exactly.

Sheets will either be on the bed or in the closet. At BLT they were on the beds. I also think they were at BCV.

Although we did not sleep on the sofabed last trip, DS did sleep on the pullout chair that is now provided in some units to make a 1BR accommodate 5 or a 2BR accommodate 9 (2BR AK-Kidani in our case). It seemed very comfortable & quite wide. I liked the depth of the armrests as well. No problems sleeping - although as a pp mentioned, after a day at the parks we can sleep on anything :).

In our case we had 7 in the group & it was easier to leave the sofa as a sofa to have the living space, and so used the sleeper chair instead. The smaller kids used it as a extra couch during the days we left it opened up too.

Sofa beds are okay by us too. We like the space they provide when folded up and the fact that we have a couch to sit on during the day and not just a bed.

Have to agree with you. That is why we did not buy DVC until we needed and could afford enough points for a 2 bedroom.

While I like the living area, kitchen, large bathrooms and washer, dryers, sleeping on a sofa bed is not an option for me.

I would prefer to be home over that pain.

We are a family of 6 so we always stay in a 2 BR and have to use the sofa bed as well. Actually, my DS 7 loves the sleeper chair while my DS 11 has never complained about the sofa bed. Both the chair and bed are very easy to covert back and forth from seat to bed (much easier than the sofa bed we have at home and much more comfortable). The sheets and blankets are already on the sofa bed, but the pillows are in a bag in the closet.

With respect to the comments about housekeeping, I actually like the fact that we don't have to worry about having to work around housekeeping everyday. It gives us the flexibility to be lazy (we are on vacation after all) and lounge around in the room without trying to hurry and get out before housekeeping shows up. Just my two cents.

Though my friends tell me that the sofa-bed is just fine mattress-wise, if we only have 1 more person to sleep in the 1 bedroom at VGC they generally opt for the pull-down Murphy single bed due to to ease of putting away during the day.

Its my understanding that BLT & AKV have a similar non-sofa sleeper option in the living room, so maybe that would better suit you?

I don't know what's happening but, I've agreed with about every post you've made in the last month.:rotfl2:

We spent one night in Hawaii this past summer(had a Fri-Fri week on BI and my Westin Princeville 2br exchange came through as a Sat-Sat). That was one night too many for me(being the only female in a house of males).

If we didn't want extra room, I wouldn't have bought all my timeshares. We used to rent condos or cottages in our pre-DVC days.

And when I was growing up, that's how we vactioned(condos/cottages) and if hotels were the only option my parents got 2 connecting rooms.
