Just wondering if you can ask housekeeping to make up sofa beds for you if you're going to be back late?

We stayed at SSR in 2011 with dh and I sleeping on the living room sofa bed for 2weeks. Comfortable but really inconvenient to have to take the bed apart every morning and remake late at night so the lounge could be used.

What do you think?

I'm not sure why you had to remake the bed every morning. Housekeeping should be putting it back together to couch form for you.

For the one I stayed at SSR, I made it every day because it was the only way to move through the room.

Are you saying you want the bed opened and sheets etc put on so you can come home late and just fall into bed? I have never heard of that happening. But I think you can leave the sheets on and fold it up.

We've always kept the sheets and blanket on the sofa bed and folded it up each morning. Just unfold again at night.

At any place I've ever been, if you have a sofa bed, you just leave the thing unfolded before you left the room and it would be made up and back into a sofa when you got back.

If you want the bed left unfolded all the time, you might want to leave a note but it doesn't take that much effort to unfold it at night.

Thanks for your replies. We found we could not close the sofa bed with the bedclothes on it (they showed/jammed when put into a sofa), had so had to take them off to close the sofa bed to use the room. So at the end of the day, housekeeping didn't know it was a 'bed' and we had to make it from scratch every night. It does sound an odd question if you normally close a sofa bed and just open it in the evening !

Don't close it, they will do that for you when they do the rest of your housekeeping. That way it will be a bit neater for whoever goes to sleep in it.

When we stayed at the Polynesian, we left the sofa bed opened. Housekeeping made up the sheets on it, and left it opened for our return. We never closed after that, nor did Housekeeping, which was fine with us, as we used it for a bed only.

So, when you were *in* the room, you wanted it closed to walk around. But couldn't close it because of the sheets so you removed those and then closed the bed back to a sofa. But housekeeping didn't realize you used the sofa bed so didn't remake the bed? I'm wondering where you put the sheets but in any event -

Simply just open the sofa bed back out, put the sheets on the bed and leave the room. It will be made up and back into a sofa when you return.
