Sofa bed/Murphy bed

Does anyone know if Aulani has switched over to the Murphy beds rather than the sofa beds as some other DVC resorts have done? If not, has anyone heard of a timeline when that might happen?

I’m bringing my cousin and his wife with me next fall. I’d prefer to save points and get a 1 bedroom unit, but I really don’t want to sleep on a sofa bed, and I certainly don’t want to ask them to sleep on one. The Murphy beds I’ve seen at some other resorts look fairly comfortable. My other option is to get a 2 BR by borrowing points and staying fewer days.

Not yet.

No real timeline. AUL was supposed to receive a softgoods refresh in the DVC units this year, but softgoods wouldn't cover bed/sofa replacement. Likely a few years before they do murphy beds.

Thank you! A two bedroom it is! Sure wish they would lift that 50% borrowing restriction. It would help a lot.

WDW has murphy beds again? Wow! I remember back in the late 90’s when the YC/BC had them. They were replaced sometime in the early 2000’s.

I've had an RV sofa bed. It fits my fifth wheel, perfectly fitting where I had it planned. The couch is comfortable to sit on and not bad to pull out to sleep on. Converting this sofa into a bed is a simple process.
