Why are six packs of soda (Coke, 7-up, Dr. Pepper, etc) no longer available? I don't need/want 12 cans.
I really haven't thought about a six pack. I just buy the 12 packs. But I do buy the mini's in 6 once in a while. Why are six packs of soda (Coke, 7-up, Dr. Pepper, etc) no longer available? I don't need/want 12 cans.
Speaking of these cans, when you're talking minis, are they the short and squat ones that are the same diameter as 12 oz cans, or the taller, thinner ones? I frankly haven't seen the former around here in a while.
I remember about a decade ago I found Coors Light in these 8 oz, thin cans. I heard some jokes about them, like they really were silver bullets, and that I should drink it with my pinky sticking out.
Depends on the brand - Coke/Sprite 8 oz cans are the narrow ones. Others are the same diameter (7Up, IIRC) as the 12 oz cans, but shorter. Regardless, the 8 oz cans cost more PER CAN than 12 oz cans. Ugh.
We generally buy lesser used brands of soda in 12 packs, higher volume in 24 packs (unless they're running a special on the twelves).
Might be a regional thing depending on the local bottler. What I see might even be 6-packs, but 7-Up comes as scaled down versions in every dimension, like this:

I'm probably thinking of the wrong brand. Those ARE interesting though.

Everyone seems to like the 6 pk. bottles better, and to me, lots more practical.
One of the things I remember about six packs of cans is that they don't tend to stay clean. I remember there were these modified six pack devices that actually covered the tops. Of course there are still some packages that still use rings, but with bottles the cap sort of keeps stuff out - sort of. And San Pelligrino, which uses a foil cover that's removed.
Dh still uses canned soft drinks, but I always use bottles. The cans seem unsanitary to me - I always wash the tops if I just have to use one - probably doesn't help LOL, but makes me feel better!! Anyone/everyone/everything can touch where you drink from the can!![]()
You can get 6 packs of plastic bottles or of the mini-cans.
A six pack of Sanpelligrino soda is shrink wrapped with a foil cover over the top of each can. Maybe it's overkill. Pricey too.
