Soda or Pop?

In Northeast Indiana we call it pop.

We call everything Coke.

If we're feeling particularly Southern we would pronounce it Coker Coler.

My grandfathers always put a pack of peanuts in their Cokes or ate a pack of Nabs with it! That's another poll.

We call it Coke (don't drink Pepsi) but if you ask someone if they want something to drink I ask...would you like a Coke?

Soda here. Granite City, IL is just across the river from St. Louis, MO.

We call everything Coke too. My ex is from Indiana and I always thought it was funny that he called it "sodie"!

It's all called coke here. It doesn't matter if it's a Sprite or Pepsi, any soft drink is usually called a Coke.

Grew up in NW Indiana, and we used both...at the same time.
Do you want a soda-pop? May have been a family thing. I find now I use them interchangably, or I say 'do you want a cola?'

I've always called it soda. To me, pop is a kind of music. Tonic is quinine water. And coke is cola, and if it's not cola, then it's a drug.

I grew up in South Dakota where it was pop......moved to California, so for 25 years now it's been soda!

I have never heard anyone call it pop...it's always been soda.
