We're big drinkers (diet soda usually! Love those Super Big gulps!) and wanted to know cup size at the fountain machine.

Thanks!

Just make sure to get a fresh paper cup to use at the beverage station and then pour it into your bigger cup.
May I ask why?
Just curious because at the resorts you have refillable cups and I've yet to see one person use a paper cup to pour the drink in their bigger cup. So many self-serve fountain stations in the world that I think we're all used to using our cup and not a "second" cup to pour it into our refillable cup. :confused3

They have to be much more careful about germs on the cruise ship. If more than a certain % get sick, they have to report it to the CDC (maybe?) Also, health regulations at sea are stricter than in the US.

Oh, well I noticed people filling up refillable (mostly resort or DCL cups) straight from the tap but they were all the type with lids and used straws- so it's not like the side of the cup that touches the fountain ever touched their lips anyway. :confused3 No one seemed to be there policing it- although I will admit the majority of the time I was at the fountain was late at night.

In 2005 the paper cups at the drink station were the exact paper cups from Disneyland that are used with kids meals; maybe 10 oz or 12 oz.

(All of the paper goods on the ship were from DL.)

My guesstimate from the Wonder a couple weeks ago is the cups were 16 or 20 oz. More like a medium soda from a fast food place.

I know the hot cups are 12 oz and the cold paper ones seem to be a bit bigger maybe a 16oz.

A super gulp drinker here. Just wanted you to know that the cups are waaayyy to tiny for us super gulp drinkers.

Also a HUGE Diet Coke drinker, I think I will be getting plenty of exercise running to the drink fountain:) Great idea bout the tumbler, will add that to my list:goodvibes

On our cruise in 2005 DH saw someone in Topsiders on embarkation day with one of those HUGE AM/PM 64 oz Supertanker mugs and couldn't figure out why someone would bring that; when I told him there was a soda fountain he was so bummed he didn't bring this cup from Regal Cinemas called a Regulator; it's a 32 oz cup with a screw-on lid. It is coming with us this time.

Sounds like some of you are bringing your own swimming pool! :rotfl2:

Yup, we bring our own cups too. I have never wasted a paper cup to then pour it into my cup. My cup has a lid with a straw, so there would be no germs shared anyway. Plus, if you pour from another cup, the fizz would be gone!

We just returned from 4 nights on the Disney Wonder, and used the beverage station ALOT. They do have a sign posted that you are to use a "new" cup each time you use the station. I'm sure it's to try to help keep everyone healthy. I never saw a DCL crew member there to police it, but we did adhere to the sign. We never had any health issues, but sometimes you can actually be contagious before showing signs of illness. It was inconvenient making so many trips to the beverage station, but if it keeps us and others healthy, we had no problem with it. Even if you are using your own cup or mug, and it has a lid on it, you can still have bacteria on it and not even realize it.

We carry "Bubba Jugs" with us for our Diet Cokes. They look like a keg with a handle.

I like to use those insulated cups like you can get if you are a patient in a hospital...I think it is a 32 oz cup...it will have to come with me
