SoCal Summer Pass

We will be travelling June 30 - July 3. My DD24 is inviting a friend who lives in Temecula to join us for her first ever trip to Disneyland on the Saturday. She goes to school and that is the only day she can come. I was planning on buying her a 1 day PH. If she ends up loving Disneyland as much as we do, can she upgrade this to the SoCal Summer Pass? That Saturday we are going is blocked out for the SoCal Pass, but I know it is possible to upgrade on a blocked day for other passes. Anybody know if this is possible and what it would cost?

Maybe you should just figure out a way to get the summer pass. In one day you won't see it all. I'd say the chances are low she won't like it and wouldn't want to come again.

Just a couple points of clarification. There is a Summer Fun Pass non-PH ($108) and Summer Fun Pass Plus PH ($129) available only to those who reside in SoCal and Baja. Each is good for 3 days and must be used by 8/29/10 or within 45 days of first use.

There are also 2 variations on a SoCal Annual Pass. SoCal Select (generally blocked for Summer, holidays and all weekends) for $169 and SoCal (generally blocked for Summer, hoildays and all Saturdays) for $219. You can upgrade to a SoCal AP on a blockout day, but if you do it on July 3, the next day it can be used without buying a blockout ticket ($45) will be Aug 22 (for SoCal) or Aug 23 (for SoCal Select). It will expire on July 3, 2011, although, of course that day is likely to be a block out day as well.

Is this what you want to do?

1. Saturday, July 3rd: Buy a 1 PH ticket
2. Upgrade the ticket to a Summer Pass Plus.

Or are you talking about the So Cal Annual Pass?

Thanks. Sorry for the confusion.

She cannot afford the Annual Pass and that would block her out all summer anyway.

I am talking about upgrading a 1 day Park Hopper to the Summer Plus Pass which I thought was only available to SoCal residents.
