Soarin' SB+ test...Fail

I want to point out that MDE will tell you when an ADR conflicts with a. FP+ reservation, but it won't actually prevent you from making it.

Yes, but that doesn't work in reverse. You can make conflicting ADRs when you already have the FPs with just a warning message. But if you have the ADR first - and their window does open much earlier than FPs - it won't let you reserve FPs until 2 hrs after the ADR time. Unless something's recently changed?

So for popular restaurants where you have to book at 180 or be shut out, you're kinda stuck with that chunk of blacked-out time in your schedule. Which is funny because those super-popular restaurants are the ones most likely to churn people through as fast as possible.

However, the added complexities mean that SB has gotten longer for some rides that used to be quick walk-ons.... Still, the way to cut lines at Soarin' and Toy Story Mania is to add more rides. It's no coincidence that neither has a huge wait at DCA. TSM doesn't even have FP at DCA! Also, it's sad that I'm using DCA as the example of a park with more things to do. But it's true!

This is my BIGGEST GRIPE. Fastpass SLOWS DOWN LINES. The reason you never wait for more than 45 mins in DCA is because there's a fair amount of attractions and there's also no fastpass slowing down the regular line, so I a constantly moving ride like Toy Story it's not a problem. You NEVER had to wait for Spaceship Earth either, but now that FP+ is slowing down the line it's a nightmare.

No, it will not stop you from making FP+ during ADR's.

I've been messing with my times for over a month and never has it come up. We have at least one ADR/day due to allergies and lots of ride times that overlap them at the beginning or end. We did the trial last year and I remember thinking it tried to stop me but I think I was able to go back in and edit the times. When did it stop you?

...It was quite a zoo down there, and there were gobs of people leaving the pavilion. Also no wait and plenty of seating for the food court.

Now THIS is what Disney would regard as a failure - all of their efforts at queue manipulation failed to get more guests to spend money in the food court!

Nope, not true (for me at least). I have at least a couple of FP+ reservations that overlap with an ADR. Never had a problem making the reservation or moving the times around.

Wow. That worked far better than I anticipated!

Wow, I assume this is a reference to all his posts disappearing (his/her former presence is evidenced in all the quotes)? Please let me know in advance if I am ever getting to the point that you are tempted to use these powers on me!

I just noticed that too....and here I thought I was the only one with PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! mesaboy, you are some kind of sorcerer.

I haven't had this problem; I have a 6:40 reservation at Teppan Edo on 9/17 and I have a TT FP+ at 8pm. Honestly, with this glitchy system I wouldn't be surprised if everyone has different experiences in this situation.

Mine would be:

1. legacy FP back;
2. good weather for my upcoming trip; and
3. a Yeti that moves again.

I want to play too!

I want:
1. Legacy fastpass back too
2. Vikings and no princesses in Norway
3. Epcot Future World to get a lot of TLC

Yes, the 2 hour window rule has changed. The system no longer prohibits guests from booking FP+ that conflict with ADRs. For our trip later this month, we have CRT at 1:10 and Splash at 1:45. We also have an overlap on the front side of our ADR with our A&E FP+.

That's great that they fixed that. When we last went in January, it also locked me out with a 2-hour window. We don't eat CS, so we always have 2 TS ADRs each day. I could barely schedule 3 FP+ per day. When they sent me the survey, I mentioned all this. Goes to show you that they do read guest feedback, so keep letting them know what you think of everything.

(Read to page 30, so if this has been said - sorry!)

I think those of you who like this idea aren't considering what could possibly a major fatal flaw. See, this was only a test, and other than the very small percentage of people who follow blogs and forums like this, very, very few guests probably knew about it. Therefore, very few guests changed their touring plans to accommodate this temp procedure. Now imagine it's implemented on a permanent basis, and it become common knowledge that if you want to ride a certain ride AT ALL you MUST get a return ticket as soon as possible. Every single guest is now going to rush to that attraction first thing in the morning to ensure they get that pass. Yeah, the passes lasted till 5pm on a day that maybe .1% of guests knew about it. You honestly think they'll last more than an hour once EVERYONE knows about it?

I have to agree with you here. I mentioned something similar in an earlier post.

Yes, of course.... I agree completely. If this were to become permanent...

This is essentially a Legacy Fastpass, so now I will revert back to my old ways of getting to the park at opening to secure my SB+ pass..... just as I would have for a Legacy Fastpass.

This will also change the FP+ that I pick.... since I am limited to 1 top tier FP+, I will make that selection Test Track..... since I now know I can get a paper Fastpass (SB+) for Soarin'.

If/when this becomes permanent it may cause FP+ passes for Test Track to become harder to get.

They've come full circle.
