My wife and I rode this the other day - orange this time, since she gets sick spinning (man, does that change this thing!?!) Anyway -

What was in this space before? :confused3 Did they add on to the building to put this in, or did they remove something from an existing building for it?

Do you Mission Space:confused3 Then I believe the WOrld of Motion was there.

I believe you're refering to Mission Space---Horizons used to be there before they renovated.

Wait!! There is 2 versions of this ride too?? I knew about Mission Space having 2 versions, which is great to know since my BF doesn't like rides that spin, but didn't know about Soarin having 2 also. Thanks for the heads up.

Kitchen Kabaret, which then became Food Rocks was located where Soarin is now.

Mission Space is where Horizons was located.

No, Soarin has only 1 version, which does not spin. The OP was probably referring to Mission Space, which does have 2 versions.

Soarin is in a totally new building behind the Land pavilion. Nothing was there before. The waiting area is part of the Land pavilion.

This thread makes my head hurt. I'm going to go ride the new non-inverting Spaceship Earth located in Wonders of Life.

Right after I visit Animal Kingdom to ride Splash Mountain without the final drop.....

Sorry, I just couldnt resist:rotfl:

My, my, my, my, my...are these questions being answered by people that have never been there? I don't think I've ever seen a train wreck like this thread before. :confused3

Oh, well...some people must have a life and don't have the time to know all this trivia. :rotfl:

PS..I do know that some are just sarcastic responses so don't get defensive. What scary is that some of the responses are serious, wrong, but serious. Seriously wrong, even!

Here's everything in a nutshell. On Mission:Space, the non-spinning side is green and the spinning side is orange. Soarin' is on the lower level of The Land. Where the que is for Soarin' is where Food Rocks used to be and they added on to that part of the building. World of Motion closed on Jan. 2, 1996 and Test Track opened in it's place on March 16, 1999. Horizons closed on Jan. 9, 1999 and Mission:Space opened in it's place on Oct. 3, 2003.

Wait...there's a version of Soarin' without the orange smell? oh good! I prefer the smell of clementines anyway....:rotfl:

just kidding!

Doesn't one side of Soarin' have a lemon smell, rather than orange?

::yes::
Horizons was the building that was where Mission Space is now.
Here is a link to a wonderful page about Horizons.

No!
Soarin' doesn't spin at all and it only has one version. (Just for the record, Soarin' never did spin).

::yes:;
The entry to Soarin' is where Kitchen Kabaret used to be before it was renovated to Food Rocks. The actual Soarin ride is in a new building attached to the existing Land building.

Well, yea, if you're going to get all informative on us!

There is no lemon smell. You probably just rode it after they used Pledge to dust.

Doesn't one side of Soarin' have a lemon smell, rather than orange?
No, it's key limes. One side is Soarin' Over California, and the side with the limes is called Soarin' Over Florida.
