Soarin' is not a simulator ride. You are in a "glider" which is lifted off the ground (in the dark) at the beginning of the ride. It moves very, very smoothly and has no sudden movements or turns at all. It is nothing compared to the simulator rides. I am not thrilled with the simulators but I love Soarin'!
I cannot handle the Star Tours ride or the Back to the Future ride at Universal, but I love Soarin. It's not jerky or anything like that. The most "movement" is maybe tilting ever so slightly forward or back. Nothing drastic at all. BTW, I'm scared of heights too and I can ride this okay. Have fun!
Does Soarin' have a single rider line? I can't, for the life of me, remember what rides have single rider lines...other than Test Track. Never needed that info before now.
Due to the configuration of the line, i don't think the single riders line will ever be open. For some reason it doesn't work like its counterpart in DCA.
Soarin is a very light ride... One of the best things about it is when you go through the orange fields, you can actually smell the oranges. I agree the ride is way to short. It does not have a single rider line at this time, but who knows what the future holds.
Test track/mission space are the only 2 that I know have a single rider line at this time.
When we rode last month they called out to the line for a party of 3 (which we were) so we got to go ahead of the line. I guess they try to fill all the seats without splitting up parties.
There are actually 3 Hidden Mickeys - look on the golf ball as it flies by you; look at the Mickey balloon on the golf course, and the fireworks display at the end of the attraction film.
