I am bringing my mom to Disney in Sept. She does get car sick at times, and am wondering if anyone has felt ill after riding this?

Also, if you are one the ride and feeling ill do you look to the side? close your eyes??

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Motion sickness shouldn't be a problem-the movement is no more than a slight swaying motion so uness she is particularly susceptible she should be OK. Its nothing like Body Wars or Star Tours  The film is not a jerky fast moving one, more like a beautifully filmed travelogue :)

I would not get too worried about motion sickness on SOARIN. As justplaingoofy stated the ride is very smooth and not fast at all. My DW, who gets motion sickness just thinking about most rides, loves this ride and it is always on top of the list (she rode it 4 or 5 times last July) for her when we visit EPCOT.

I wouldn't worry about Soarin if her motion sickness only shows up sometimes in cars.

Just in case, though - My mother is horribly susceptible to motion sickness and these kinds of movies really do her in during the 'flying' sections. All she has to do is close her eyes and she's fine. It doesn't sound like your mom will have a problem, but just let her know that closing her eyes will do the trick if she does have a problem and enjoy the ride!

My friend gets terrible car sickness and she absolutely loved Soarin'! She had no problems. It's a very calm, relaxing ride. :thumbsup2

sorry, I don't normally get motion sick but had to close my eyes during much of Soaring. It was beautiful, but I felt like I was going to fall right out of my seat :rotfl2:

Apparently I am one of the few who got quesy on this ride. I felt a little quesy for about 15 minutes afterwards...it wasn't too bad, but I was a little green..

I am highly susceptible to motion sickness. When we did the Disney cruise two months ago, i had to take Dramamine most of the time.I'm so sensitive that I would know immediately everytime the ship starts to move, however slightly. But i did soaring 3,sometimes 4 times in a row on the days that we're in Epcot. No problem at all.One does get a little goose bumps at time, when the screen goes by too fast, but there is really minimal motion from the seats so I think your mom would be fine. If she feels uncomfortable about the "world" moving too fast under her, she can just close her eyes.

Thank you everyone for your comments..

I am very excited to bring my mom to Disney... My parents took our family back in 1976, and I took her for a Christmas gift 10 yrs. ago... Now her and I are going back again...

We booked last week for the free dining, and that day while talking on the phone w/ her she was so excited she said ..
"I have to get off the phone and go pack!!"
(for a trip in Sept).. She is the caretaker of my dad who has MS and is in a wheelchair.... so she really needs this get away!!! :Pinkbounc

She said she has been telling everyone that will listen that she's going to see the mouse :cloud9:
