Soarin How long is the ride

I don't know maybe 2-3 minutes. There are three different rows. Row one is the highest maybe 50 ft?? row 2 -30ft & row 3 - 20 ft. I'm guessing here I only rode once in row 3.

The ride is 4 1/2 minutes (according to ultimate guide). The previous poster is right, row 1 is the highest, but I don't think it's 50 feet - probably more like 15-20 feet. I rode it twice yesterday in row 1 and row 2. Row 1 was much better - when I was in row 2 and looked up you could see other peoples feet. It is an AWESOME ride!!!
:)

Not long enough! I think I read that row 1 is 40ft, row 2 is 20ft, and row 3 is 10ft. We were seated in the first row and it was incredible. Even DH, who is not big on heights, absolutely LOVED this ride.

Can anyone tell me why this ride is so great? I haven't ridden it yet, but it just sounds like a moving-seat-with-a-movie-screen sorta ride but people are talking about running to this ride when the park first opens! Can you clue me in?

It's so great because you really feel like you're flying! It doesn't seem like a movie screen, it really feels like you're part of the scenery going by, which is incredible. It's the most incredible thing...you'll see once you ride it! :)

You just get this really awesome feeling, like you're really soaring above the scenes that you see. It was very moving for me. Beautifully done! Everyone applauded when I went on. Don't miss it!

Alright then - I'm sold :goodvibes I'll just have to make sure I get a fastpass because there's no way I'm running to it - lol

How is this ride for less adventurous kids? Are there individual seats or can you hold a frightened child next to you? My son does alright on Peter Pan at MK, but I'm pretty sure he would be very frightened on a ski lift. How does this compare? Once you are on and the ride begins is there exit for a parent with a panic stricken child?

You could put your arm around your child in the seat next to you but not take him out of his seat and put him on your lap. You can't exit the ride once it starts because the seats are actually in the air. To be honest, I'm not sure how a less adventurous child would like it. It really does feel "real". I didn't see many kids when I was on it yesterday. HTH :)

The seats are individual, but pretty much hip-to-hip, so you could hold your childs hand. Once the seats are lifted, there would be no leaving, I'm afraid. I have ridden it about ten times now and I've never heard any crying or any unhappy kids. If you prepare him to imagine he can fly and that it's totally safe, he should be fine. There are no scary images and the music is very soothing. You move very slightly, sort of leaning into turns.
It's the only ride I know of that gets an applause at the end!
Enjoy! :sunny:

It is realistic enough that I found myself lifting my feet to avoid hitting treetops!

I was sure I was getting hit by the golfball. It was a great ride. We were in row 2 and you can see the feet of the people above you in row 1. Also, my son was in the first seat, so he could look down and see the people running the ride and also looking to the left you see the set of riders next to you. If you have flip flops on, you have to leave them on the floor when the ride is running! It was fantastic!!!

We just returned from Disney today. Soarin was great. Over the course of the week, we road it 3 times. Yes, it feels like you are flying!

My husband tried to dip his feet in the water when we went over the ocean. Because he had flip flops on, he had to remove them for the ride so he was barefooted.

Children, below a certain height, have a strap that goes between their legs to make sure that they are safely kept in the seats.

We saw lots of children -- of all ages -- riding. There were no tears.

We are planning on taking our 5 and 7 year old granddaughters on the ride in November.

We got back yesterday and were able to ride Soarin Twice with fast pass.

It is one of the best rides ever IMHO. As a previous poster wrote, you really do feel like you are flying....

My DS11 really enjoyed it too. The second time we rode we were in row one which is the Best..... No feet in front of you, but you are pretty high up.

I cant wait to go back and ride it again and again. The ride is way to short for me though. I would like it to be longer......

Fast Passes were gone so that was our only option! The wait time said 60 minutes so we decided to wait. It took 90 before we were actually getting on the ride. It was a great ride, but I don't think I'd wait that long again for it. :sad2:
