Hi: I would love to one day try soarin but I am concerned that I may get a migraine from the visual motion. Has anyone who usually gets sick from visual motion tried soarin and how did you do.

Deb.

I get really sick from the Circlevision movies and from the teacups, but Soarin was fine.

I felt sick after the alladin simulated ride at DisneyQuest, bot Soarin didn't bother me or my kids.

I had "moments" I thought I was going to get nausous - - I quickly looked at DD 8 and said "we are NOT moving" - this gave me a look at all the seats... I also would look at the side of the screen and other things that told me I was NOT moving!!

It is a 'must do' for our family - it is/was a wonderful feeling - they have the wind blowing at you, the seats "soar" its amazing!!

I didnt get a migraine, but again, I had to "stop" and look to remind my body - we are NOT moving!! :)

I have a VERY diffuclt time with rides, but Soarin' was absolutely fine. It's really great!

Myself,I had moments where my stomach "flipped" or rolled. When my Mom and Aunt got off the ride both commented that it made their eyes hurt.

ok, Chicken Little here....

reporting that I was on Soarin' for the first time last week and absolutely adored it - felt a total exhilaration and "high" for quite awhile afterwards, and if the Fast Pass wait hadn't been so long - I would've done it again!!!
I hate heights - can't do downhill skiing - not because of the falling possibilities, but because of the LIFTS! . DBF chickened out. DD(9) was so excited I had to go.
Just don't look at your feet - otherwise - it really was like flying and an absolutely fabulous experience. When you get off the ride and see that it's essentially a 3 story elevator with an IMAX - what's the problem????
Please do not miss it!!!

Hi: Is it claustrophobic at all. I know sometimes in the epcot ride spaceship earth i sometimes feel claustrophobic when the ride stops to let others board.

Thanks,

Deb.

I am get claustrophobic easily, am terrified of heights, and get dizzy on Dumbo (yes, I'm a wreck :goodvibes ) but Soarin gives me no problems at all. It's a great ride one that my 5 yr olds loved as much as their grandfather, and it's a must do!

No problem at all--its not fast, no sudden drops, its a beautiful ride.

If you get scared, you can look around (we were in the 2nd row) and see other people's feet or the line of seats on either side of you to remind you that its just a ride.

Also--as part of the simulation, they do blow a little wind on you to make you feel like you are really parasailing and that would help I'm sure if you started to feel woozy.

Its an amazing ride and if at all possible don't let your fear hold you back. I figured, hey, I'll never actually do this in real life. Its my chance to be "brave" with no risk involved.

I get claustrophobic, am a chronic migraine sufferer and never ride ANY of the thrill rides. I thought Soarin' was AWESOME!!!! It's a very smooth ride and very exhilirating!

Unlike Eeyore45, I found that if I looked away from the screen at my daughters, for example, THAT made me dizzy. So I just made sure I kept my eyes on the screen.

Have a great flight! :goodvibes

I can do any ride at Disney, including teacups! They are my favorite!

However, soarin made me feel awful! I got off and my legs were wobbly and I just didn't feel right at all. I went on it again a few days later and the same thing happened. I will be avoiding that one in any future trips.

My DD didn't get a headache from the motion. She said the smells really bothered her and she felt they caused her major migraine. Smells often bother me, but didn't seem to effect me on Soarin'.

Hi: Thats funny, my daughter as well is fragrence sensitive and will develop a major migraine from them. Apparantely it is the chemicals that they use to make air fresheners etc. Are the smells really strong? If they are she could hold her breath for an instant.

Deb.

There are only two instances (at least that my nose could determine) where you have fragrance. I smelled a very very light pine smell and a slightly stronger orange smell. They weren't overwhelming and it's just a quick whiff just as you might catch if you were flying over either a forest or an orange grove It's not overbearing such as the skunk scent you get in Figment's Imagination ride.

::MickeyMo I am very prone to migraines but I was fine on Soarin'. Back to the Future in US however, gives me major headaches. Maybe because Soarin' is so smooth. ::MinnieMo

How about severe allergey sufferers? I don't wear perfume or use any scented products at all. Anyone had a problem?

The orange is what bothered her. If she had something she cound put over her mouth and nose for a minute I think it would help. That's what we plan to do next time.

Circlevision bothers me, too, so occasionally, I had to close my eyes. Otherwise, no problems. And I get motion sick very easily. I really enjoyed Soarin.

I enjoyed Soarin but then again I enjoy all the thrill rides (especially Mission Space) I was in the first row and I could only smell the orange scent. I heard that in the 2nd row you smell the scents stronger - I think there are 3 scents - orange, pine and ocean - although like I said I only smelt the orange - so that must be the strongest one. I am not sure how the smells are on the bottom row but that might be the best one to try if you are scared the first time.
