Soarin film change?

I read sometime back that they were filming a new Soarin track over Florida. Any new updates or info when the change might take place?

I keep reading posts from people who think they should (they think it makes more sense for Florida than a movie featuring California), but I haven't heard even so much as a rumor that it might happen.

Nothing really new on it within the last couple weeks.

Earlier this year, Disney was filming overhead at WDW for this new attraction. They'll probably be doing more filming of the parks and other destinations around the world as they ready ride film for Soarin' Over the Horizon, which is expected to first open with Shanghai Disneyland in that park's Adventure Isle (the equivalent of Adventureland) featuring iconic clips from all around the world (not sure if they'll include the WDW footage) at the end of 2015. Then, later in 2016, expect to see the new film walked over to DCA and Epcot.

I had heard this but that the only change was going to be that instead of Disneyland at the end, that it would be Disney World. Which, when you think about it, doesn't really fit with the them of Soarin', which is supposed to be a flight through California!

Its a rumor that keeps resurfacing but Disney hasn't said anything official. I suspect some of what you read is really just wishful thinking rather than real info.

Umm...Disney's confirmed that a new version of Soarin' is going to Shanghai...

Filming occurred over Disneyland during the middle of the night back in March for the new film.

Well there was a helicopter filming over WDW in April and it clearly had a camera pod visible. It's generally felt it was filming for the new Soarn

Why not do it down the east coast? From Maine, over NYC, DC, the Carolinas and then into Florida? LIke California does the entire state there which is almost the length of the east coast.

I think they are going to have a worldwide file with each ending at the respective park you are watching it in. That makes the most sense.

You're close. That was for the 7DMT commercial. The Soarin filming took place a few weeks later.
