I know that everybody has different tastes and different favorites when it comes to rides, but is there anybody else out there who just doesn't quite get the huge appeal of Soarin? Don't get me wrong, I think the ride is nice and pleasant and all, and if I can get a fast pass and get on in 5 or 10 minutes I think it's great, but I just don't understand it's huge following. It kind of seems like your lifted off the ground and watch a short IMAX movie with some mild wind and aroma effects. Again, I'm not attacking the ride or anything, just trying to figure out what it is about the experience that makes people wait in line for an hour or two.:confused3

I dont get it either..It is ok.But I would never wait more than a few minutes for it.I love the music though

I'm kinda the same. I like it, but I don't LOVE it. I'll ride it at rope drop and be good for the rest of the day.

I absolutely love it! I wouldn't mind if they spruced up the screen and maybe changed the movie to a flight around Florida, but all in all it's a must-do for us. :)

I kind of miss the old, if you had wings attraction in the Magic Kingdom....not sure I like Soarin that much first rode it at California Adventure, seems to fit in better there

I think everyone needs to ride it at least once, if they haven't been on it before.

I think they should change it up a little with the footage with newer footage.....

love it.

But i wish they would rehab it already. Every screen has dust spots and stains. It's hard to watch no a days.

Love it? I love God, Jesus, my wife, my kids, my parents, my brothers/sister and neigbors.

Soarin' is about a thousand more down the list than those. Somewhere above my new shoes and somewhere below the 1969 Minnesota Vikings.

But its a pretty good ride. It is unique, it is immersive and I like the music.

And the line isn't that bad. I wouldn't wait more than 45 minutes for it though.

I like it, but don't love it. It would be better to be Soarin' over the World. The whole California thing doesn't really fit in. I also hate how they just shoe-horned it in to the Land pavilion, making the whole thing a giant, crowded mess. They should have built it as a separate pavillion with its own entry and exit instead.

My kids love it, though, which means it is always our tier 1 FP+ choice at Epcot.

I'm with you. We rode it for the first time last year, and I did like it. However, we rode it a second time, and it really didn't do anything for me. Glad to ride it once, but I don't really feel the need to ride it multiple times. It probably doesn't help that I spent a lot of time setting up my own projector and screen in my home theater, so I was constantly noticing flaws in the screens and the overall poor quality of the old video. Compared to a ride like Star Tours, which has solid value in riding multiple times, I just don't see the huge appeal to Soarin'. If it was at MK, I doubt I'd ride it at all.

My whole family really liked it when we went 5 years ago. Here's the very interesting fact to me...both of my kids (who were in kinder and 4th grade at the time) have spoken of Soarin on a VERY REGULAR BASIS consistently through the years. We are finally going back to Disney this summer (woot!) and they are both very excited about the whole trip but specifically talk about how they can't wait to get back to Soarin (they are now 5th grade and 9th grade). So something about that ride really spoke to them! Maybe the scent of oranges?

It's a fun ride but I'd never wait more than 30 minutes to ride. I'll only ride with a FP+.

Now Test Track I love and I'd be willing to wait over an hour to ride (Granted I never do cause we always do single rider).

While I would never wait more than 20 minutes for it, I enjoy it when I do ride it. That said, if I didn't get a chance to ride it one trip, I wouldn't be very upset.

I like the ride but I LOVE the score. Really, that's the highlight for me.

I do not love it, but one of my DS-7 twins does so it is a must do. I do enjoy the scent when you fly over the fruit trees though...

I don't get the massive appeal either. I don't mind the attraction but I don't understand all of the hype surrounding it. My family (80-year-old grandmother and all) will happily wait in a 60-90 minute queue and they pick me up at The Living Seas when their flight is complete.

I think it's a great ride and deserves the headline status it has. It gives you the experience of flying through the air -- it's the sort of non-movie-tie-in, magical experience that the Disney of old established its reputation on. The success of rides like Soarin' is one of the things that gives me hope, however faint, that people in corporate will still consider original attractions going forward rather than just cross-promotional stuff.

Having said that, in an ideal world (and in order of both highest priority and feasability): (1) it needs a refurb to clean the screens; (2) it would be wonderful if WDW got its own unique film highlighting, you know, things other than the State of California; (3) I wish there was a way to increase ride capacity -- like building into the basement or up above the current ceiling :rotfl:; they could easily double capacity and still not satisfy demand.

There's plenty of space for them to build a 3rd and 4th theater. They wouldn't even have to rebuild the queue line with the way the building is configured. They could build 2 new theaters right next door and you could access concourses 3 and 4 just by walking down a hallway built straight ahead instead of immediately turning left or right for the original 2 theaters.

I do absolutely LOVE it! It is definitely my favorite ride at Epcot and probably in my top 5 in all of WDW. I just love the feeling of "soaring", the wind in my face, the scent of the orange trees, dodging the golf ball, the fireworks at the end. Does it need updating? Of course. But, I will still ride it regardless!
