We've never been to Disney during the holidays and are lucky to get there the last day before everything comes down. We'll be arriving at Orlando early Sunday afternoon. We're going to try to get to 3 parks that day (first will be Epcot for Soarin' and eat at Sunshine Seasons, then DHS for Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special, then MK to see the Castle in all of it's holiday splendor and other holiday decorations in the park). With Sunday being the last day of Osborne Festival of Lights and the holiday decorations in general at MK, what do you think the crowds will be like at Soarin' since it's the last day open before renovation? I'm trying to decide whether or not I should use a fastpass at Soarin' since time is going to be limited.

Soarin' always sucks. I was there last week, standby (except at opening) was never less than 90 minutes. Got down to 60 minutes right before close. Get a fastpass at all costs.

I would use a FP+. When Soarin comes back it will be an entirely different film, so this will be the end of the ride as everyone knows it. We were there on Malestrom's last day. The line was 3 hours long for a good part of the day. We had a FP+ and walked right past everyone and onto the ride, for our last ride. We were there to see Duffy on his last day this October. In the past, I don't think we had ever waited more than 10 minutes for Duffy, and we waited over an hour on his last day. I would expect the Soarin line to be 3 hours long for a good portion of the day- maybe even longer as it is a much more popular ride than Malestrom was. There will be AP holders and huge Soarin fans willing to wait it out for that last ride too. We were at DL when the new Star Tours opened and local AP holders went there for the day for the sole purpose of riding that ride-- it was the first time I have EVER seen the line for a Disney ride at 6 hours!!!!!

Are you holding FP+ for it already and deciding whether to keep them? If not, I would be surprised if you can still get FP+ for that last day at this time. If you can, I would grab them immediately!

To quote a certain politician/reality tv star/real estate mogul the line "is going to be huuuuuuuuuuuuuge"

I had a fastpass the other day and cancelled it to rebook for January 2nd (no issues getting two for the 2nd). I'll be at Studios on the third instead. So there may be some available still. Maybe not at the times one might want.

I also came across a large group of CMs who worked at Soarin' at one point who are planning to ride on the final day. It's gonna be a mess.

Yeah, it will be crazy. I saw a thread about someone who wanted to ride it over and over again all day. Pack you patience.

CW at HS now through January 3.
Today's times: 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 & 11:00pm
January 1-3: 11:30am, 12:30, 1:30, 3:30, 4:30 & 5:30pm

:mickeyjumFastpass! You need every second you can get for your plan......... which I wholeheartedly endorse.

if you can FP Soarin' I would. Especially if you aren't arriving until early afternoon. It may not be the time you want & you may have to re-order the parks you visit, but I bet it will be a minimum of 2 hours in standby on the last day after RD.

FWIW I just checked for Jan. 3 and was able to get 2 FP+ for Soarin overlapping at 5:45-6:15. For 1 person they had 2:30pm, and basically every hour 5:30pm to close. (Don't worry - already canceled both FP!)

Unless you want to stand in line upwards of 3 hours, I would DEFINITELY get a FP+ for Soarin! We rode Soarin on Dec. 26 (2 people) at 8 pm and the standby line was 90 minutes.

I know today is super crowded everywhere but I just saw Soarin hit 240 minutes. I would guess that even though crowds in general won't be near what they are today, the wait time may be similar.

Here's your proof
