Soarin' attraction starting construction?

OK, wdwmagic says that construction trailers are up between The Land and Imagination, suggesting a construction start of Soarin'. I'm leaving in 2 days, and will take a look. Any of you regulars see this or hear anything? And if it isn't true, what's with the trailers?

I don't know for sure, but aren't there construction trailers on site most of the time. If there are only one or two, it may be nothing unusual. When we took the FW behind the scenes tour in May we saw construction trailers behind the Land, TT, and the dock where the Illumination barges are stored. The CM didn't know for sure, but she said that there was always something going on.

All I know is that there were some people were surveying around the Imagination pavilion on Wednesday.

It is true these trailers are there and they are waiting. Some construction walls are sure to be going up soon with those sayings. "Pardon Our Dust We Are Building A FUTURE Epcot".

Food Rocks is still open for now, right??? Since the rumor placed the Soarin' entrance in that location, I assume the attraction will have to close prior to construction really starting. That doesn't mean there can't be some advance work done, or work on an unrelated project, but I was thinking we would effectively have confirmation for Soarin' when Food Rocks closes or is annouced to close.

Its nice to hear about the construction going on, lets just hope its not a clone but a new ride with the Soarin ride/show mechanism!!!

THEY are WDI trailers that have been there for years.

I'm a little confused. Is Soarin' going to replace Food Rocks, or get its own building (I've heard rumors of both)?

As the rumors go, Soarin' will have it's own new space, but the entrance and pre-show for the attraction would be where Food Rocks is now. So Soarin' won't "replace" Food Rocks but will use that space. It seems that the Soarin' attraction will be part of the Land Pavillion and the attraction would be accessed from inside the land.

Initial rumors had Food Rocks closing sometime in September. I saw another recent rumor that indicated the Food Rocks closing may be pushed back to January. Not sure which, if either, is true. Heck, there hasn't even been an announcement that Soarin' is even going to be built, but that will likely come during the media blitz that takes place in Epcot in early Oct.

Still here at WDW, and was able to access a computer and the internet, but it's costly, so I'll make it quick. Talked to 8 CMs and 2 suits n' ties about Soarin'. Each and every one denied anything was going on, but when confronted with my accusations of using Food Rocks as an entrance to Soarin' and the ride not being ready until 2005, they all caved in, including the 2 suits n' ties. who admitted that yes, Soarin' was going in sort of behind and alongside The Land and next to Imagination. One of the shirts also said, and I quote, "you ain't seen nothin' yet". When I said , "Do you mean Gemini? He just smiled, winked,put his finger to his lips and said, Sssshhhhh! and walked away. One thing I will say is that they also all said they had not actually started construction as of today, Friday, and I could not see any new construction trailers in the immediate areas. Just the regular trailers that are always behind the fence between Land & Imagination. More when I get back. Yea, I know, don't listen to CMs, especially ones in suits.
