Soap Opera Weekend/Week before T-Giving Mom's 60 th B-day

We finally picked our dates to head to WDW. Thanks to this forum we picked Nov 14-22. It seemd like a great time to go The NJ convention will be over and so will vets day. But my next question is Soap Opera Weeked. Have they set the dates for 2003?? Is it crowded only at Disney Studios?

One more question this trip is for my Mom's 60th b-day so we want to make it special. Any thoughts???

In the past the soap opera weekend was on Veteran's Day weekend. I was at MGM on the Sunday of soap's weekend in 200 (did not know it was on until I got to the park (before I found dis). The park was crowded but the lines for the rides were not. The afternoon disney parade was cancelled; and they had the soap parade instead. There was a large crowd for Fantasmuc in the evening (all the Soap activities were over for the day).

we went during ssw a few years back. dont be afraid of it. mgm had more people, but they were all doing soap stuff and didnt generally clogg up anything we were doing. plus there was the bonus of seeing the soap stars and nutty fans.

SSW is usually either the 1st or 2nd weekend in November.
