do you ask for extra saop and shampoo just to take home ?? not because of the quality just cause?

I asked for some extra lotion because I thought I could use it for other trips. The bottle was small and looked pretty durable. They ended up bringing me a bag with all kids of toilletries in it. I brought it home and gave it to a shelter.

I used to use the soaps as decoration when I had a Mickey themed bathroom ::MickeyMo

I had never thought of it until I read about it on here. Now we always ask for extra soaps and shampoos and lotions. :)

Never needed too. If I wanted some to take home I just put the ones from the room in my bag and mousekeeping replaced them the next day. Alway got plenty that way

my daughter has a mickey mouse themed bathroom...they go perfect with the decore...so...yes...we take some home every chance we get.

I always ask for extra. It is so fun to have them around the house as little reminders of our wonderful trips to Disney.

I think the Mickey toiletries are so poor quality i won't even use them why we are there ! However I always ask for extra oatmeal soap at the swan or dolphin :D great stuff !

i think the soaps are cute..i like to bring them back for friends...

We are staying at the AllStars where they don't have the soaps/shampoo. Anyone know if I can ask mousekeeping to put some in our room?

Have to agree with Judy from Boise -- The shampoo and lotion are of such poor quality I have no idea why Disney even bothers providing them. I don't use them while I'm at Disney so sure wouldn't bother to take any home with me.

At the All-Stars resorts they have a wall-mounted dispenser in the shower that dispenses shampoo and body wash.

I hate the shampoo, but the body wash is fine. They do provide bar soap at the bathroom sink at All-Stars.

I think Pop Century did not install the dispensers and have the individual bottles.

Another poster here who thinks the quality is SO poor that we bring our own. I'll take what WDW provides for our use though and donate it to shelters. At least I hope they like the cute bottles and I guess it is better than nothing.

I can't stand the shampoo at the resorts... I take my own... however DH has a large staff so we do usually take some home to add to other little things from WDW (candy bars, pencils, magnets) for gifts for them. I don't ask for extras, just remove the ones for the day & mousekeeping just replaces them.

The soap is just Ivory cut to look like Mickey Mouse.

The shampoo is okay but not worth keeping.

Now the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is another story...my fiancee stole about 10 bars of their oatmeal soap last time.

Although I ususally take the soaps and shampoos home I ALWAYS bring my own. The shampoo makes good bubble bath for kids.

I usually take a couple extra soaps home with me ... They're just the right size for going to the gym with :) I don't care for the shampoo or the lotion. The shampoo doesn't lather enough for me and the lotion feels more sticky than moisturizing.

I bring them home, but I don't know why. They end up sitting in the cupboard, then get smashed and mangled, and then I end up tossing them. I do have to say I like the hand lotion, and I use a bottle a day while I'm at WDW. I'm a hand lotion FREAK (just like chapstick) and ALWAYS Have to reaaply after I wash my hands. :teeth:

I always save the soap and shampoo and lotion.

The shampoo and lotion I give to the local shelter and the soap goes in shoe boxes for operations Christmas Child.

When I was at AKL in August I left a note telling mousekeeping what I do with the extra soap. She left several extra every day.

Of course this got her great tips.

This was also the first time I have left daily tips. It was brought up on this board that the mousekeeper when you check out might not be the one you loved all week. For some reason I had never thought of that :rolleyes

I have never had to ask for extra shampoo and soap. I collect them throughout our stay as the mousekeepers replenish each day. I bring the shampoo and soaps back to my daycare center to place in the children's Christmas stockings each year.
