Assuming I am paying, well I don't have enough for the GF so I'd probably stay at the Boardwalk, Y&B Club, or the Contemporary.

Yacht/Beach Club (right near EPCOT)
Boardwalk - Really fun
Contemporary - Awesome rooms
Animal Kingdom Lodge - It seems SO cool
or Polynesian - I love the decor from what I've seen

i used to do that all the time when me and my mom used to go WDW. if my mom wanted to stay in the hotel but i wanted to do something i would just go out and hang out on the boardwalk, they had that street magician guy who was awesome. i was a "lovely assistant" it was so much fun
