Dinner was tonight with DM. I forgot what day and ended up eating late yesterday.

Flights were great. Got a free upgrade to Business (on a 777) for Dulles - LAX so getting into Economy Plus for the Long Haul was a let down...
But there was noone in the middle so that was good.
Nice guy in the Aisle. He's from Chicago and also a frequent United flyer. He ALSO has found United will just refuse upgrades to Business for International now even with availability and he is a WAY more frequent flyer

For my Sydney - SFO I got offered a $1000 upgrade. Which if I paid was still cheaper than paying. But that's money for something else. For him...he got offered - Pay us $600 and 30,000 miles for an upgrade. About equivalent....


I came home to a car with a semi dead battery. Needed a jump start and then driven around for an hour....fun....hot out there...and I didn't want to turn on the AC and over do it until it was recharged.

Just had some food. Need a shower soon. Then sleep.

Hope PIO is ok. It's been near 100 in Melbourne today people keeling over with heat stroke

Cool! I was thinking about the Prospector since you mentioned DH was a meat and potatoes kind of guy, it is a dive, but an awesome dive. We love eating there, even though it's not fancy, the food is great and they make a good steak, soup, grilled toast, and baked potato. They also have a full bar if that is at all important!

Cool, Fran will like that we are not having to go to a fancy place, this place is a total neighborhood hangout, locals know that it is a nice neighborhood diner type place. You get soup, salad, relish tray, plus entree, toast, potato and entree and it's very casual. We like it and it's a bargain for the overall thing.

It will be nice to hang out with you and your DH, the funny thing is that we know your DH is Chris but I don't know your name! I will still have to call you Usnuz!
