Every year in the neighbor hoods you can throw all your junk out, applinaces, tvs, furniture, anything and they haul it away.

I am excited trying to get things together.

That is nice. I can take electronics to the central recycling collection, then they ask(push) for a suggested donation depending on the item. In fairness they don't sell the electronics like some places will. They send them to a place that recycles the whole thing in a responsible manner within the US. Even the plastic shell of my mouse will be used not just the copper.

Appliances go to the dump, like the yard waste has to be seperate.

I'm allergic to pine trees so our life is the beach instead of the mountains. I used to love skiing as a kid and adult until my head felt like it was splitting open coming down the mountain to home. Darn sinuses.

Thinking of picking up a Kindle Fire tomorrow at lunch to take on the trip. I hate using my phone for Internet stuff, too slow and you always have to make the page larger to read it. Hmm, think I'm getting old.

Let me know how you like the fire, I have the kindle 3g wifi. I love the screen, very easy to read. I will keep lasting for both of us.

Our recycling is all mixed. You have 3 bins. One for general waste. One for mixed recycling. One for yard waste.

Mixed recycling is ANY plastic, ANY cans, ANY glass, ANY paper.
There's no numbering system on which you base it on. I mean we have stamped bottles with logos but you put ANY plastic bottle in.
There is no payment for recycling at all. No matter what you do with it you don't get paid.

Yard waste is anything like lawn clippings, branches, raked leaves etc.

We also have those clean up days every few months or so. You can put out junk...and then you CAN also put out tree/hedge/bush trimmings. But those must be a set length and bundled appropriately with a tie into bunches.

I have an ipad because dad won it and gave it to me. It's pretty handy for internet stuff as it is a decent screen. Just a few websites are a pain for it...

But I WON'T use my phone for DIS or much of general websites. Just too painful.

$199 seems pretty good for what the new kindle does...

I have the kindle linked with the ipad2 and it is very difficult to read outside. Thats why I am not so sure about the kindle fire. Same type of screen. I like the icloud as you can instant message anyone with an iphone or ipad.

I saw an atom processor based HP notebook for $250 at Sam's Club a few weeks ago. That didn't seem bad at all.
