Due to the summer promotion I'm having a huge conflict right now. I am trying to decide if we should stay at the DLH in August or stick with our original plan to stay at the PArk Vue.

The rates for DLH are $1735 (including taxes)for the 7 days we will be there. We have a kitchen suite at the Park Vue for $1200. So for $500 less we can each have a bed and a kitchen to cook in (really helps because we eat lunch and then have a nap before heading back into the park).

I'm just looking for pros and cons to both. We have stayed at the DLH before but never at the Park Vue.

Oh one more bit of info that *might* help, we are planning on returning in December and I want to stay at the DLH then because Christmas is such a special time. I don't know if they will have great rates at DLH at that time though. So I'm not sure if we should do DLH this time and Park Vue next time or vice versa or just try for the DLH both times. That will get expensive though because we like to stay at least 6 days each trip.


So, WWYD? Any thoughts/opinions welcome TIA

I've never stayed at the Park Vue but I have stayed at the DLH.

Personally for 500.00 cheaper I'd stay at Park Vue, for the kitchen and the larger room.

I just changed our room from Desert Inn & Suites to the Annabella because Aries was running a buy one day at the Annabella get the second free so we were going to save over 300.00 I figure there are better ways to spend 300 at disneyland rather then on where we are going to be sleeping. I'm pretty cheap though.

Since the kitchen suite fits the way you like to travel, and since the PV is closer to the esplanade than DLH is (unless you like to enter at Tomorrowland and exit from Tomorrowland, and will always be using the monorail, of course), I'd go for sticking with your plans.

In the past, they have had some nice holidaytime AP rates. No clue if that will continue. But you could pop that saved money into an account and be that much further ahead for your December DLH trip!

Oh wait...swimming might be a wildcard here. If you really like swimming and would prefer to do it at DLH, then a trip in the summer makes more sense....not that you cannot swim in December, but it's less likely that you'll have great weather.

You could do a split stay ~ either start or end your visit on-site, we've done this 4 times and are doing it again in July ~ our 1st two nights @ the DLH and our last two nights someplace a lot cheaper

You guys made some pretty good points. I do like the kitchen feature because we do eat in the room. The Park Vue room is also bigger so we have more space (the kids area has a door so DH and I won't have to be quiet when they are asleep).

I did consider the room change but DH said no way, he would rather stay at the DLH to make me happy then switch rooms.

Part of the conflict is that I LOVE the DLH. The kids (7 and 8) would vote for DLH, because of the MM and the monorail. My DD also loves the story channel. I guess I just need to decide if that is worth the $500 to us. I also know logically if we stay at DLH our food costs will go up because there is no microwave, and we won't have a stove to make lunch with.

This is just so tough, if anyone has any more opinions please throw them at me, I have a feeling I will be undecided for a while (sigh).

I vote for the DLH! I know other hotels are the same distance, but there's something extra special about being surrounded by Disney 24/7. It sounds like you really want the convenience of a stove, but maybe you could manage finger food type lunches for the week instead? $500 is alot. But maybe you can find a way to make up for it. There's nothing quite like a summer stay at the Disneyland Hotel (except maybe a Christmas stay!).

We had this same "problem" for our Sept. trip last year. We had first booked the Portofino Inn (one of the kid suites). When the deal came out, we switched to the DLH. The DLH was just one room and was more expensive. My husband and I were looking forward to having our own space at the Portofino. But, the DLH deal was too good to pass up. I am really glad that we did do the DLH. My kids loved the Neverland pool and we spent most every afternoon there. The room did have a refride and we cut down on food costs by stocking it with uncrustables, yogurt, and such. I also brought muffins, etc. for breakfast. If you are going to take mid-day breaks, then I vote for the DLH because it has more of a "resort" feel and has the option of the great pools or just walking around on the grounds. I have stayed at the good neighbor hotels for winter trips where we spent most of our time in the parks. But for summer, I say DLH--have a great trip!

We just got back from a week's stay at the Park Vue. I really liked it, and given your info, I'd probably stick with the Park Vue.

• You'll be staying onsite at Christmas time anyhow.
• Park Vue has a bigger room, separate kid area, everyone will probably sleep better.
• You'll save a ton of money with the kitchen AND the free breakfast, which I was was happy with (eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, waffles, toast, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, etc).
• The Park Vue is soooo close to the entrance.
• I can think of a LOT of things to spend an extra $500 on in the park!
