So Who's registered for the Pirate Event

Finally committed! Woohoo! Me and DD 7 will be there! We got the Pirates life for me package.
Only thing available for a studio (DVC) is SSR
I think I will waitlist it though.

Congrats on booking the package...Don't worry, I think you could like SSR...I have always stayed at SSR since becoming DVC, and I love it
Like I stated, I am only staying at OKW instead cause I have to save a few points...But feel free to wait list for something else, you never know.

I am only worried about getting back to the hotel at 3 am from the movie. The CM I spoke to told me that if you are staying at the CR or WL on DVC points, you do not get bus transportation. That was the only reason I was trying to get WL. But if I cant get on the bus, then doesn't really matter where I stay.
If you ask me, for $395 a person, you would think they could give you a ride. I'm just sayin.

Ok, I am really confused now...I thought we all had bus transportation back from the movie...Why would they make someone staying at CR or WL not have it?...Are they going to just leave someone at DTD @ 3am and expect them to call a cab back to CR or WL?

That's what I said. I asked "so even if I stay at CR or WL on points, I will not be able to ride the buses?". She said - right now we do not have enough buses to accomodate anyone else. IF we have enough room we will accomodate you, but as of right now, the only way you get transportation, is if you buy the package with the room included.
This is what they told me. If anyone finds anything else out, PLEASE post it here.

So...let me get this strait......we can go back to the Contempoary after the premiere and drive back to All Star and get back,right?
We don't have to be staying at one of those hotels to get transportation,right? They can't strand us-can they?lol

Actually, no. They told me at event services that, as of right now, there are not enough buses to include anyone other that the people who bought the package that included the room. Believe me, I was as surprised as you, so I asked the same question about 4 times. I really hope she was wrong, but she said that even if I was staying at CR or WL, if I was staying on points, my package did not include the transportation. I said that doesnt seem right-can't they get another bus. She muttered something like they are working on it, but it was not really an answer. If you find out something else please let me know.

This doesn't make sense...I just discussed this w/a friend of mine who is also attending....She is staying at OKW, too...She called event services to ask this for you....She was told from event services that this isn't true at all...Busses will be taking people back from the film if they are on points or not..No matter what..

Thank god! That totally wigged me out! My grandparents would flip out!
I didn't know for sure,but I thought the PI guests would still need bus transport,so the buses would still run.

I hope that is true! That is not what Tina from event services told me. She was not very nice about it either. Thanks for checking. I think I will email them to get confirmation in writing!

Stacy, if you'd like, call and speak to a different CM...My friend that I discussed this with is a CM and she called the head of Event Services...I think you just got an unknowledgeable CM.

Yes thanks. I think she was annoyed with me asking so many questions. This was the same lady that, when I asked her for some more information on the event, she said-I dont know what you mean.
Very frustrating!

Stacy,

All DVC guests can park at the Contemporary for all of our events. Bus transportation will be from the Contemporary to Downtown Disney for the
movie. All guests of the event can use the bus transportation
to and from the movie and the Contemporary. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I would imagine that the confusion came about because Disney is providing transportation back to the Contemporary Resort after the movie portion of the event, but there may not be additional transportation to the other resort hotels. It was made very clear to me when I told them I was not staying at Contemporary Resort and I would be using my DVC points instead, that I would be responsible for my transportation to and from the Contemporary.

Received our RSP Information E-mails this morning. RSP selections must be submitted by April 15.

Ok, that clears it up a lot better...Transportation will be from and then back to the CR only then.

Actually, when you sign up for RSP, it asks you where you need transportation to after the movie and it lists all DVC resorts in addition to the CR & WL. That clears that up!
