So, who's changing their dates to get free dining?

On thursday we are going to change our dates. Because free dining was the make it our break it for this trip in the first place. Now New York needs to get on it's job and release the kids return to school date. I know that it's usually right after Labor Day so the most the boys will miss if anything will be 1 or 2 days.

Disney called my bluff. Despite saying dozens of times that we wouldn't do it, we couldn't resist. With 3 "adults" and 1 child at a moderate resort, the free ddp discount is just so much more than anything else. And when we started looking into other times of year, less expensive hotels and restaurants, we realized we really want to stay onsite with the ddp.

We will be taking dd out of school, but I've already talked to them and they assured me it won't be a problem as long as they know in advance. I feel a little guilty, and am nervous about the amount of work she'll have to make up/do ahead/do on vacation, but who knows how many more times they'll offer free dining, or whether we'll qualify for or be able to take advantage of any of those offers? Life is too short.

accept our district sends them out for "excused" as well and we have to meet with an attendance team so they can threaten us live and in person.

 Our district gets tougher every year, I hope they don't start doing that as well.

It's a bummer for us but we'll work around it. Amazing how different each district can be - for those that can do it, enjoy!

The only time I could book was 9/1-9/5 because football practice for DS17 starts mid-August and goes until Labor Day Weekend with the first game on 9/7. My son will likely miss 1 practice (the first day of school on Wed 9/6) hopefully. Both my kids opted to miss the first day of school for this vacation -- just what do they learn the first day anyways:confused3 My son's school calendar is not quite ready so it's a gamble -- and they have not scheduled the four-day training camp that I'm hoping is August 27-31. Keep your fingers crossed or one kid will be staying home. You can see where his priorities are:rotfl2:
