So, who will be up at midnight to see if a deal has come true on Disney's website?

I think it was 40%.

Ok, so you had to pick between 40% OR FD? Or, could you use both? I'm sorry, but I didn't understand what some previous posts meant that there were two discounts; I thought you could only use one.

No, you couldn't use both. The CM told me there was a room discount in addition to the free dining with this package, but it was much smaller than the usual room discount. What it really was (now that the website is back up I was able to price it out) was only a few dollars less than adding dining at the regular price to the AP room only discount. I guess those few bucks were the room discount :confused3.

What was the room discount like? We just booked with a FD PIN, but if they do another room discount and FD for Visa, I will definitely have to re-book.

We are in the same boat. We currently are booked with a FD Pin. Last year we had the VISA FD and there was a room discount built in to the offer but I it was very difficult to figure out the actual room discount. It was nothing like 40 percent; it looked like it was around 10-15 percent. I do know that the FD I got this year (which is at rack rate) is definitely more than expensive than last year even taking into consideration that room rates went up. The VISA FD (if there is one) may not have the discount this year if the rumors are true that it will be released to the GP a few days later. I will probably just call if VISA FD comes out and see if there is any difference.

We have a trip planned for 11/14-11/21. 17 of us are going. One of the moms going called yesterday to inquire about something she saw on Southwests website...while chatting w/the CM she asked if there were any discounts coming out after the free dining is over on the 26th. She said she didn't know, but doubted that it would be free dining again!!!

Hello all! My mind is spinning! :faint:

Question:

I am a Disney Visa holder and currently have a package booked at POP. IF there is a deal for card holders coming out Friday morning, will I be notified through email or through my Chase account log in, or will I have to keep checking WDW's website?

Thanks and pixiedust: to us all waiting with anticipation! I know where I will be camped out for the next few days!:surfweb:popcorn::

You are probably better off checking here and your disney visa account website, I didn't get my email notification last year until after it went open to the GP!

Some here are saying Friday; so, now, I'm confused. Help!

What day is it for it to start for Disney Visa Holders?

this message is on the Visa website, don't know if it means anything:

This website will be unavailable Saturday, July 25 from 11 PM until around 11 AM ET on Sunday, July 26.

If you plan to make a credit card payment on Sunday, July 26, we encourage you to schedule it before that date.

Would they need to take their whole site down for 12 hours just to add a notice about a VISA discount? :confused3

thats what I was thinking, but "if" the code should be out Thur or Fri for us card holders, wouldn't the site be down now or tomorrow and not this weekend??? Lets hope its down for a different reason and we get a code tomorrow

I was wondering this as well. I signed on this afternoon to check for any updates and saw that it would be down...hmmmm:confused3

Either way I will be up at all hours the next couple of days checking things!:surfweb:

I just read (I beleive) every single note on this thread but I'm still wondering something.....

I'm a Disney Visa cardholder. I already have a reservation for the Poly Dec 2-9. If they offer a discount, can it just be applied to THAT reservation or does the resort still have to be available to rebook it? I read someone said that the Poly and WL had been picked over so they had to book another resort. When I check availability (regular rack rate) for those dates it still shows availability. But in anycase, can the discount just be applied to a current booking or does it not do any good that it's already reserved? I booked that darn room last AUG!! haha

THANKS!!

Don't worry--you can just apply the discount to your current reservation. If you've already paid, they will credit the difference to the card you used.

The Disney Visa website was down when they added the current 35% off deal that is available through Oct. 3. I don't know if that means the same thing this time, but it could.

My experience is that it isn't as easy as just "applying" the code on an existing res. Codes are put out there to fill remaining rooms, and there are a certain number of room types available for each code.
Maybe some codes are different, and maybe I'm wrong, but you always read about people having to change resorts or dates to get a code, so just adding it to any existing reservation doesn't always happen.

Sorry! I hope I'm wrong about that!

It just depends if there is any availability in the resort you are currently at for the code being offered. This happened to us last year. We had Pop booked and the GP code came out for November. By the time I got through, I ended up having to change to AS Sports, but I saved $600 and added a night. Hope this helps.

She said Friday for visa cardholders and Monday for the public. They did not offer this to the public last year for this timeframe. And notice I put scare quotes around "free", because, basically, we got it for $630 rather than $1000 or whatever it would have been.

whoa, i've been off the boards since early this morning and just read the last couple of pages... lots been going on today!

Question... sorry if it was already addressed on an earlier page that I am just too dog tired to go back and read tonight, but... do folks think this possible Visa offer is only through the end of this year or will it be going into the first couple of months of 2010?

Thanks for the clarification!:worship:
