Just curious....I frequent the parks quite often as they are literally 10 minutes away from me :)

I live in Orlando. It's about a 15 minute drive to Universal for us.

Do any of you who live in Orlando know if a Wal-mart there has a one hour photo that does Christmas cards? My local Wal-mart has a one hour service that is offering a photo postcard for Christmas.. I would love to take a family picture at Universal.. have it developed and made into cards at Wal-mart and drop them in the mail.. I will be there a few days before Christmas so for it to work I need to do it all there!
THANKS!!!

I don't know if this counts, but up until two months ago I lived about 3 blocks from the park. And literally went almost every day.

I miss doing that jog around there now.

As for a walmart location, there is one a few miles north of the park on Kirkman. From the main exit (major blvd) turn left on Kirkman go over the bridge and then go I believe its 4 lights, and on the left is WalMart (Theres a smaller shopping center in front of it) Walmart is passed the big signs that say MetroWest.

In between that and Universal is a few fast foods and a Publix supermarket. Couple places I liked along there include Flippers Pizza, Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbecue, and Firehouse subs that just opened last month. (all these places were across the road from where I lived)

Hehehe....my boyfriend's friend Geoffrey lives across the street from the park. You can hear the Hulk from his bedroom! Hehehe :)

Hahahahahahahahahaha.......you know, I shoulda caught that when I wrote it! :earseek:

Hehehehe :)

I'm just outside of what's considered the Orlando area. Takes roughly 30 minutes to get to Universal, mainly because I have to travel through I-4 downtown.

It's about an 11 hr trek for me "door-to-door"....:p but I left my soul there and that's just living round the corner!!:D At the moment it's parked outside the RPR!

I hope to live in Orlando in a couple years, but right now I'm about a 2 hour drive from Universal. Close enough to go almost every weekend or so, at least!! :)

Altamonte Springs, FL
11 mins. to downtown O-Town
20 mins. to USF-IOA
35 mins to WDW

Here's another question: How many of you that live so close (like Steph) stay on site for the FOTL experience?

To be honest with you, the ONLY time I've ever used FOTL was for HHN. We received the booklets for $10 with the purchase of our Frequent Fear Passes; the price for everything together was cut down since we have Annual Passes. Usually when I go, the lines are minimal (5-10 minute wait), and I have a knack of "going in a route" where I avoid all of the crowds. Even for HHN, we only needed to use 2 of our FOTL passes; we used the rest when my sister came to visit and Orange County released the monster children into the park

Generally when I go to a park....ANY park EXCEPT Magic Kingdom.....I always start to the right. Most crowds tend to go to the left (and having the Hulk right there draws a lot of people to it). By hitting Suess Landing/Lost Continent first, there are virtually NO lines. By the time I get done with Jurassic Park, it's hitting lunch time, so Toon Lagoon is pretty bare. Marvel Super Hero Island is last, and by that time, everyone is on the OTHER side of the park. Same with Universal...start out with Shrek, then on to T-2, BTTF, MIB, Jaws, Earthquake, Twister, and Jimmy Neutron last. I guess I should add in the Ghostbusters one day, too :)

At the Magic Kingdom, people almost ALWAYS head right for Tomorrowland, so I head out to Adventureland. I heard rumors that Adventureland isn't opening until 10 a.m. now, so going to Liberty Square (ESPECIALLY THE HAUNTED MANSION!! AHHH!!) is first. After Adventureland/Liberty Square, I usually eat at Pinnocchio's Village Haus for lunch, go through Fantasyland, then onto Tomorrowland.

The LONGEST I've waited recently for ANY ride was the Safari thing at Animal Kingdom...it was about a 20 minute wait. My boyfriend and I walked onto every single ride at all 4 Disney parks one Saturday in September (Mission:Space/Pirates of the Carribbean, two of the hottest rides right now included). With the exception of a few haunted houses at HHN, we did the same (and then we used our passes).

I'm pretty lucky...hardly ever ANY lines. :) Hehehehe! :)

Some very good advice, there! :)

SSB lives in LBV, can see the Epcot Illuminations (and hear it) at night...

Heading to BeerFest on Sunday! :)

You GUESS???? :p :p :p

Come on and try to meet up at one of the shows Saturday - Tuesday. I'll probably be at the first show every one of those days....good chance I'll be at all of them on Tuesday and at least most of them tomorrow! Possibly see you, or else, maybe some other time!! :)
