So who has been to HH during February?

fun is sorta subjective...what's your idea of same? there is more golf [and mini golf], shopping and restaurants that any resort area i can remember visiting. the resort has a poorly maintained horseshoe pit, a well maintained half basketball court, a shuffleboard area, just ok outside charcoal grills, a great main lodge, a beach where you can ride rental bikes along the water's edge, dolphin tours and kayaking at add'l cost, and the porch on each unit is heavenly for morning coffee, an afternoon with a good book and an evening cocktail! am not familiar with the resort entertainment schedule in the winter - but i'm sure someone who is will be along shortly.:goodvibes

Sounds like a HH trip in Feb may be just what the doctor ordered.

I wonder if anyone could write off their trip as a medical expense on their taxes?
We went to HH in February just once. The golf rates go up March 5, DH's a golfer, so we decided to try late February. Well, it was cold, windy, rainy, miserable weather all week. Did we have fun? Oh, yes! DH curled up in front of ESPN all the time, and I went down to Big Murgie's Den and read the Island Packet (thanks to introducing me to that, Disneyaholic). Of course, all the CMs told us, "You should have been here last week-it was in the 80s and sunny every day." They had quite a few resort activities, although I was the only guest on the 3 hr. Island tour with Connie, and Pinckney got cut short because everyone was so cold. All the resturaunts were open (although in 2007, I saw that Cafe Europa doesn't open until late February). But we decided to go back in March or November.

I went last year and it was quite fun.

If you don't mind just relaxing.

Most of the shops and restaurants were open, as were the golf courses. The weather makes it a bit more difficult the enjoy the "island" per say, but if you are in the mood for some R and R, you can't beat it.

We are going to HHI President's Day weekend and we are very excited. I hear that they have activities planned during the winter months also.. We are going down for my son's fourteenth birthday, just the four of us. I hope the weather is pretty so that we can ride bikes to the beach. My son's main reason for wanting to go to HHI is to just lay back and rest. I think this is the perfect place to do this.

By the way, what is the Island Packet?:confused3

The Island Packet (at least, I think that was the name) is the daily local newspaper. I found it to be fun to read to follow some of the "issues" of importance on the Island.
