So who else can't wait for DCL to release the next set of dates?!?!?

i seem to remember having something like a 2 or 3 day notice between when the release date was announced and it actually opened about 6 years ago......am i just making this up?

I don't think you're making it up! The last few releases its been an announcement one day followed the next by platinum/gold booking by phone only, then opened to the general public and silver the following day for phone and web reservations. That would be a two day lead time if you were silver or none!

No, DCL will (sometimes) send an e-mail to previous cruisers with a head's up for "new itineraries" a couple of days ahead of time.

And, there's always someone here on DISboards who seems to be "in the know" and will post the info here.

I'm also super excited to see the new dates/itineraries. But, I have no idea where I should be checking. If I want to see them as soon as their released, where should I be looking everyday?

I go on the Disney Cruise website. If you select dates, a pop-up box comes up with the months and years you can check. Right now, the last one is May 2017. So, as soon as I see June 2017 on there, I am booking! :)

Wonder is only bookable through April 2017, and Magic last debark date is May 7 :( I was hoping they would put out the PC cruise in the last batch, but nada.

Me!! Looking to book a July or August 2017 cruise for western carribean. My hubby is having a mini attack on how much money we are spending on Disney lately lol. WDW in April, DL in August, and deposit for the cruise next month.

@pepe3penelope

Was eyeing Princess for maybe November, how did you like their cruise line?

Also I can not WAIT for 2017 Alaska sailing listing.
I actually haven't cruises yet on Princess. I just booked it for April 2017 for the Ruby's Pacific Coastal cruise. We really love DCL so I can't wait to see what they release next month. If I don't like what they're offering, then we will do the Princess cruise. We have only done DCL so I'm a little tentative. However, I know many people have gone on Princess and have been happy.

I'm looking forward to December 2017 dates. This would be our first cruise so I have a lot to learn. We always say "maybe next year" since we are normally too invested in saving for our next WDW trip and can't swing the 20% deposit at the same time but I think this might finally be the year I can make it work!

Has anyone ever booked when dates are first released and then found it cheaper once onboard with the onboard booking discount?
If so is it easy to rebook?
TIA

I was wondering about this as well. We are interested in doing one of the European cruises summer 2017. I've heard the best prices are when they are first released, but we've done pretty well with on board booking in the past.

Booking on board saves you only 10%. I would book on opening day to get the best price. you can always cancel and rebook onboard if by chance your cruise does not go up in price.

I've booked 2 cruises on Opening Day. Both went up by thousands of dollars between when I booked and when we sailed. So I am very glad to have booked on Opening Day, rather than waiting to rebook onboard.

I've never reshopped while onboard. But I think that's because we are only able to go every 2 years. we book on opening day to get the best rates!

I seriously cannot wait till next month!!! :jumping1:party:

All I can say is just book it, you'll be so happy you did! You may even find, (as we did), that WDW vacations are a thing of the past. We usually stay for a night at WDW before the cruise because we fly from AZ and have to arrive a day early but we greatly prefer DCL to WDW.

We're looking at Alaska 2017. I know this is the normal time frame for when the itineraries are released, but it feels like it's taking for. ev. er.

I feel lIke things are aligning perfectly for me to actually to it this year. We'll have our tax return by the time those dates are released, and I'm finally able to do a day 1 booking to get the best price. All I need to do now is decide between mid-October or early December but I figure I have some time!

Yes. We did it with an Alaska cruise. We booked the Alaska cruise the first day it was available and then we "re-booked" it when were on the Dream about 5 months later. Luckily, the price of the Alaska cruise had not changed at all, so I booked a new reservation on the same Alaska cruise on board (getting the 10% off and the $200 OBC). When I got home I told our TA what we did and she cancelled our original reservation and was even able to get us our original rooms for the new OBB reservation.

You do have to pay another deposit when you book it onboard (it's a new reservation), so just be aware that you will have to do that. The money from the first deposit was refunded when the TA cancelled that reservation.

I had to call my TA to asks a few questions regarding my upcoming RCL cruise in a few weeks (this is my first time sailing with RCL). After she answered my questions I asked her about the possible release date for the remaining DCL 2017 itineraries and like others have mentioned it will probably be late March (like the previous year). I told her I was a little concerned since it's a possibility that I might be still on my cruise (it's a 12 day cruise) when the new DCL dates are released. She then told me to give her my wish list (which I did) and they would book my cruise (using their money) based on my cruise preferences and wish list and I could just reimburse them when I get back. They said they are doing this because I am a long-time loyal customer but I still thought it was very considerate of them.
