So when would you buy airfare?

I bought tickets out of PIT one month ago for four people at $206 a piece. Our dates are 11/24 - 12/1. I booked kind of early because I thought flights over Thanksgiving would sell quickly and only increase in price. I still check USAir.com almost every day for any changes in the price. Today, to my surprise, my tickets were priced at $116 a piece. So now I have $360 worth of credit coming to me. I'm sooo excited. I can use it towards our next trip.

I think it may be better to wait until a couple months before your flight dates to buy. The airlines run sales then to fill up seats. If you wait too long then the prices go up again because they figure you're desperate for the seats.

We booked last week on Delta from New Orleans to MCO- 180.00 x 4= 720.00.
We've heard here in South Louisiana(read oil fields) that oil will reach 100.00 this Fall or Winter. Don't know if that's true but we're not taking any chances.
