We had a wonderful time at disneyland last/this week and I'm ready to start planning our next trip;) . We will be going for my daughter or sons birthday in June but that will be a 1 day trip. I'm wondering when the next best time to go would be. Dh cannot take a vacation for 6 more months so the trip must be after August. Were thinking 4-7 days, staying at the Grand again hopefuly. DH thinks October would be fun but I'm starting to think maybe sometime after the holiday decorations come out. I don't want it crazy busy though since I have little ones. So my question, if you could go to disney sometime after August, when would you go?

BTW- Thanks everyone for all your wonderful advice and for posting so much helpful info on this board. Our trip would not have been anywhere near as fun without all the knowledge I gained here:flower3:

Well..... these 2 sentences don't really go together:

"...but I'm starting to think maybe sometime after the holiday decorations come out. I don't want it crazy busy though since I have little ones."

The Park is gorgeous with the holiday decor and a very special time to visit. However, that is when the crowds hit, for the same reason.

As for sometime after August to visit with low crowds, late-September / early October. Post summer, pre-holiday.

Sept or Oct would be my choices. I love the parks with the Halloween decor up. Otherwise go in Nov, before Thanksgiving, to see the Christmas decor.

Same here, Mid to late Sept, early Oct. THe Halloween decorations are pretty cool! The crowds aren't too bad, especially if you can avoid the weekends. My DD9 is off track in Sept. so we go to DLR alot then. Love it! :lovestruc

Thanks for the tips. I think maybe Oct 3-9th would be good. Do any of you know when the AP9 rates come out? I'm an impulsive number cruncher<: I think in Nov/ early Dec we'll do a 1 day trip to admire the decorations. I love the idea of spending the holidays there but maybe that'll happen when the kids are older and more patient.

I find the first week of October to be super busy, and then the month still picks up even more with Mickey's Trick Or Treat. So thats something to consider unless you think taking your kids trick or treating might be a fun idea.

My suggestion would be September, or the first week of December to see all the Christmas stuff.

For lowest crowds, I'd pick the end of Sept. But early Oct might be good, too as the first falls in the middle of the week. If you want to experience the Christmas decorations, the first week after Thanksgiving is great or two weeks prior. But steer clear of Veterans Day and remember weekends will be packed no matter what. Ride all the rides during the week and see all the shows and fireworks on the weekends. Have fun deciding!

I've enjoyed Halloween week or Mid-Nov since the crowds aren't too bad. Just avoid the Nov holidays.
