So When Do You Start Packing?

I am sooooo excited!

just bought new luggage yesterday and was tempted to pack some stuff but my family thinks i'm crazy

so when do you start packing for your trip?

just can't wait

I shop for months in advance. I pack about 1 week before the trip and just keep adding till the last minute.

Now get packin'!

I leave on Friday and have begun packing swimsuits and clothes I know I won't need until then. I will still be packing Friday morning I am sure! We are going to Cocoa Beach first then onto RPR next Tuesday!! I can't wait!!!! Go ahead...start packing!

themepark, Have a great trip. Have you been to cocoa before? It's a great beach and lots of cruise ships can be seen leaving the port close by from there.

Lets see....this is May. Uh, I started packing last September when I got a bunch of swimwear on sale at J.C Penneys. Haven't stopped packing since then! We leave Friday!

uhhhh 6 or 7 hours prior to leaving (pack around 11 or 12 at night, and leave for the trip at 6AM the next morning)...but I live in FL, and don't go for as many days at a time.....

I start packing as far in advance as possible. It keeps me excited! I have two "piles" right now. One is for my cruise later in the year and one is for my weekend trip to Universal in 2 weeks. I have new luggage coming as well so I am waiting until it arrives before I actually pack anything. As soon as it gets here things will officially start being packed!

Well sheesh, I guess you can call me a procrastinator! Actually, when I'm not packing, or on a trip, I'm talking about Universal, or updating my Universal website...so.......I still get my excitement

Many months ago!! I now have numerous suitcases in my LR in various stages of packing as DD and I are leaving before DH and DS and staying longer. I'm also taking items from my mother's estate to my sister and going to nieces wedding, so lots to remember.

I do this for every trip tho. Just got back from Gymnastics Nationals with my son and I was almost half way thru packing before he technically qualified. LOL!

I started packing in February for our trip in August. I've been buying summer clothes for everyone little by little since then and putting them in large Ziplock bags which I've placed in the luggage. No sense in leaving them in the shopping bags, so I figure I may as well get a head start!

Actually, the suitcase was pulled out of the closet 2 weeks ago, so I could throw a dryer sheet in it.
On Saturday I started putting aside some items that I know I won't wear this week, & I will completely pack on Wednesday night to leave Friday morning.

I can't wait!!!!

SpideyHulk...I have only been to Cocoa Beach once. DH and I stayed there for 2 nights after taking a cruise before we had kids. I honestly don't remember anything about it, but I am really excited about going. Watching the cruise ships will be neat!

We actually have "Universal" bags that I keep packed all the time. One has "beach" stuff (swimsuits, aquasocks, flip flops & beachtowels) that are dedicated for travel. I also have two of the US backpacks that were giveaways from Mastercard that have all of our refillable Popcorn buckets, soda & beer cups always ready to go!

They are all sitting in the hall already, ready to go this Friday :thewave:

I haven't started packing yet, but I have my list made out! LOL!

The beach bag stays packed. After I wash the swimsuits, they go directly back in the bag.

DH says there is no room for the beach bag this year - what to do??? Due to gas prices, we have to take the car and there is limited room. Good thing we have a washer/dryer in our room!

We leave Friday-after-next, and we're packing and/or getting the things ready this weekend. We're driving, so we're going to get the drinks, snacks, ect......all put off on the side, and the clothes are going to start going in the suitcase along with the toothbrushes (gotta have new ones for vacation! LOL), ect.....
You'll be all packed up, sitting down and relaxing, and the rest of your family will be running around trying to find everything they need.........and when they as you where something is, just tell 'em, "I'm already packed, and since you thought I was 'crazy' to pack so early, YA ON YA OWN!"....LOL.

but they are so forgetful that if i don't check their bags they will forget, bathing suits, underwear, socks, sandals......the list goes on and on

so when i say time to pack it means EVERYONE must pack so i can be the official inspector and not hear"mom, we forgot, blah, blah, blah..what are we gonna doooooo!

i'm being smart this time and making a list
have a great trip too!!

Jesus, I was KIDDIN'....thats what the "LOL" after the comment means. Man, I tell ya, this world is getting so politically correct that every single comment a person makes seems to be judged and require a response or defense. Whatever.
