So When Do You Start Packing?

Everyone to their own we pack a week previous to our trip but i would always keep a case packed if allowed but those guys in white coats are lurking pretty close according to my DW

I'm packing while I'm unpacking! Really. There are some items I know that will be used only on a Universal trip so I just leave them in the suitcase. I will add things to the suitcase months in advance. Just the other day I bought two boxes of Spiderman themed Pop Tarts that I know will make a great treat for breakfast during our RPR stay.

It is never too soon to get ready for a Universal trip. We are going 6/30 and I have been planning the trip since we were saying goodbye to HRH for the last time back in December.

I'm like cc1954. I have USO suitcases half packed at all times. I have a trunk full of USO and WDW accessories like hats. I tell the kids that I am not buying another pair of Shrek ears and if they want them they need to take them. Like touring the parks we have learned to travel light. Our last trip we stayed an extra day and had plenty of clothes. We are like Flyfly, in that, we are lucky to live in Florida and fairly close (3 hours).

We hadn't officially unpacked from our March, 2004 trip when I planned a May, 2004 trip so I was glad to have all of our summer clothes at hand and not have to pull them out of winter storage again. When we returned from our May trip I stored all of our winter clothes and brought out the summer clothes (as well as the summer clothes in our suitcases) and the weather here in Chicago has just not cooperated -- when I store all of our winter clothes the sun must shine fiercely every day and the temps. can't go below 60 -- someone in the weather department has things all wrong . I guess I'll just have to plan another trip to the Sunshine State where summer clothes are definitely needed everyday past April 1st.

I have to start packing soon too, we go in 2 wks and I don't even have my suitcases out !
Does anyone else press everything before it goes into the suit cases? I must iron everything before and my dh thinks i am nuts doing this! I just can't stand to pack clothes without doing it! I guess it is just inbreed into me, my mother did the same thing .

we try to iron any clothes that are wrinkled before we pack- then we put the clothes in plastic packing bags that you push the air out of- believe it or not the clothes don't really wrinkle in the suitcase after putting the clothes in these plastic bags

i just can't even fanthom the thought of having to iron on my vacation- but i have ironed on my vacation before and i have also walked around like a wrinkled prune on my vacation

Yep,

Gonna start the packing this weekend. Gotta participate in an over night luau with 90 fifth graders Thursday night. So I am going to start the packing on Saturday. I know where most of the items are, just gotta get them in the suitcase.

I was thinking about Packing my blender and two bottles of already made margarita and Pina Colada mix with me as well.

I don't mind having a fresh one in my room when the pool closes!

To each his or her own, but I'm going on VACATION. I'm not worried about looking like I'm "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". My dress clothes are for work, and I'M NOT WEARING 'EM!

I don't seem to get around to packing until the night before we leave. I always end up staying up late, grumbling about all of the packing (while everyone else is sitting around relaxing!)

I don't wear dress clothes either but i do iron everything even tshirts for vacation
it is a gene my mom passed on to me
