So when do the Christmas crowds arrive?

I'm trying to plan a 2005 trip and I'm considering 12/16-12/21. Would that typically beat the big Christmas crowds?

DD starts kindergarten in the fall of 2005, and that sure puts a kink in vacation plans. We would go during this school year (2004 - DD still in preschool and can miss as many days as I like), except we were hoping to wait until our DS (currently 13 months old) was a bit older. We took DD at 2.5 and thought it was a great age.

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated!

I think you'll just miss the crowds-- you may see things start to pick up the last day of your trip but you shouldn't be affected too much and I really don't think you'll see the Holiday crowds around the 16th. I think those dates look good!!

Last year it was pretty much ok before Christmas day and then got really packed on Christmas day and everyday after... YOu should be just fine..

Depending on the day of the week Christmas falls on..pretty much right before..your dates should be fine.

We went for Christmas Week 2001 and the crowds became heavy on Christmas Eve and were there for Christmas Day and the day after Christmas then it thinned out a little.
