So when are you seeing "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ?

I think this is driving a lot of the ticket sales.

I think that drove a lot of the initial purchase - and would have resulted in a very good weekend on it's own ... but I think that combined with the fact that the acting is probably the best in any Star Wars movie and just the positive press it has getting pushed it to having the biggest weekend ever. I know for me, I was originally planning to wait until next weekend but with all the positive buzz/reviews I pushed it up to see it the first weekend

Even though I wasn't impressed with the movie, I totally agree with this statement. The acting was excellent. We recently rewatched 4, 5, and 6 and the acting was pretty awful.

We went and saw it a second time yesterday. We went trying to catch everything we missed the first time. Loved it just as much as the first time!!

Did you see it in 3D or 2D?

We're going tomorrow with the DIS folks. Apparently our showing will be 2D.

2D but in recliner seating.
Same here. I love the theaters that have those seats now. It definitely makes going the movies more enjoyable. And it isn't just the seat itself. It's also because of the space around the seats. There is a wide armrest so if you are next to a stranger, you aren't shoulder to shoulder with them. There's also a lot of space in front of the seats so that if someone is walking through the aisle, they aren't tripping over your feet. And nobody can kick the back of your seat because their feet are 3 feet away from you.

I totally agree - got a chance to experience this at a Starplex theater recently, and I want one of them electric recliners for my HOUSE! I also like the fact they extend all the way past your feet, so they're not dangling in midair at the bottom, and they can stop at any point in the reclining process, so you get a "custom sit" - VERY enjoyable! One big drawback - had to resist the urge to SNOOZE! :)

Yep, I am 6'1 and The chairs felt large and comfy to me too. You can see by the picture that DS and i had plenty of room. We were also on the back row.

Love, love, love the recliner seats. Even better when it is a pick your seat at purchase theater.

We saw it again last night (number 2 for me, number 4 for fiance) in AMC Prime. There aren't many Prime theaters in the US but oh man was it worth it. I love seeing movies like this in Prime.

I'm off to Google RPX. :o Okay - got it. LOL. StarPlex is billed as being "luxury seating", and you'd figure that would come with a "luxury price". Not at all - matter of fact, just compared - they are cheaper for the movies I looked quickly at than the "bigger, but much less comfortable, no reclining sets" theater of another brand near me, had many more food options (and better ones!), and was all in all just in better repair!

Totally just realized we didn't see it in RPX because that is Regal. We saw it in AMC Prime. Similar concepts though Prime is a a lot better and NYC happens to have an RPX across from Prime. Prime is amaze balls and has speakers built into the seat so when shots get fired or dinosaurs roar etc you feel it. Prime is only in 8 theaters right now.

I had originally thought wanted to see it in 2D 70mm and thought it was going to be available at the AMC at Universal Citywalk. Turns out the only place in California that is playing the 70mm print is in San Jose. I want to see it on film, but not at the expense of a 6-8 hour drive. We ended up seeing it at the Disneyland DTD on Saturday and the movie was great, but the it was on one of their medium sized screens and it left a little to be desired. Our plan is to see it laser projected in IMAX 3D at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood this weekend....

DH and I went this afternoon at one of local Imax screens. We loved it. I saw online that the theater that we went had he fancy...but, not the one that we had tickets (it was crowded in early afternoon). I had to go to the walk-in clinic side at my doctors afterwards to get my sore throat checked and had to inform the staff that blood pressure was going to be higher from the popcorn and still being excited. The doctor made sure to let me know not to say anything about the movie since he was hoping to go soon.

Our oldest nephew had seen it at least 3 times...maybe four by now. He prefers the IMAX since the sound was better (he is legally blind).

We got last minute tickets last night in the far right front corner of the theater. Had recliner seats so not too bad on the neck crick! My first Star Wars movie ever!

Saw it 3 times over my christmas/new years break. I would go see it again right now if I could.

Saw it for the 3rd time yesterday. I still saw lots of things that I had not noticed before.

DS swears he saw a yellow magic band in the movie.
