So what's *your* dream?

There's a new reality show coming out on Discovery Channel that I think is really cool, or sounds neat anyway. The idea is you have $3000 and 72 hours to live your dream. And they're talking fairly exotic dreams, whether it's travel (their example is have a gourmet chef prepare and serve you a meal while you're sitting on the rim of a volcano) or achieving something you've never done (like try out for a Broadway musical). I think it sounds neat to be able to watch people's dreams come true.

So what would be your dream?

I had to think for a little while to think of one I would like, but I think I'd like to go on a private nature-photography journey with a professional nature photographer in either the Colorado Rockies, or the Yellowstone / Teton area.

I want to win the lottery, quite my job and become a world traveler. Do you think they could make that dream happen??

I always wanted to be an olympic gymnast... to come running off the mat and have Bela Karoli pick me up, and give me one of those big bear hugs!! I just bawl like a baby when I watch the olympics.

But, I dont think $3000 and 72 hours, would allow me to perform in the olympics. I guess my only hope now, is to get to attend one, as an observer!!

Hmmm, I don't think my heartthrob would marry me or even sleep with me for $3000. :o

I have to say... $3000 isn't much for a life-long dream. I mean, if I was really dying to do something and the only think standing in my way was $3K and 72 hours, I would have done it on my own by now. I'm assuming a lot of these dreams wouldn't be possible without some connections that the TV people will have. But, Rajah -- you could probably set that one up yourself as your next vacation.

The homeless kitties and doggies all get nice homes with lotsa food and belly rubs. :D

Yeah, I thought the same thing, Doc. It would have been neater, IMHO, for them to offer even $5k or better yet $10-$20k.

And I've toyed with doing that, just every package I've found thus far (okay, so I haven't looked *too* hard, but I have looked. LOL!) has fallen at a time when I couldn't take the time off to get there, or couldn't justify the cost. One of these days, I'd like to take one of the nature-photography classes/workshops offered in either the Silverton/Durango area and the Tetons. Actually, a boss a couple of levels up has done the Teton one and recommended it. So, one of these days.

Right now, though, I'm working on making another dream happen for both my mom and me. :)

So the requirement is $3000 & 72hrs? Hmmmmm I think "dream" is not the right word here but hey I'll take it !
A few of the things off the top of my head are...

1) I would like the "Clean Sweep" team to come over and tackle my basement!

2) Get on the "Oprah Favorite Things" show.

3) Be a contestant on the "Price is Right".

4) Have the "Curb Appeal" people come over.

5) Have Suzi Orman make over my finances.

6) Hire an interior designer.

7) I really need some window treatments.

8) Go get that body scan that Oprah used to talk about on her show. The scan that "does" you inside and out.

I agree with what Jen said if 3 thousand was all that was standing in my way I would have had my dream a long time ago.

What I want is in Julia Robert's words...

"I want the Fairy Tale!"

I want to remarry my soul mate in front of Cinderella's Castle. I want the white carriage and the horses, the white gown, 10 bridesmaids, the fireworks, the honeymoon suite at the Grand Floridian....I want the complete and total Fairy Tale.

Now with 3 thousand I would take a regular trip to Disney!!

Hmmmm......I have a couple:

(1) A long, leisurely visit inside Neuschwanstein, just me and DH, with a gourmet dinner in the dining room. Can't decide if I'd like to do it in the fall or winter - fall colors or snow in the mountains; both would be beautiful.

(2) Someone to come and clean and repaint inside my house. There are so many scuff marks on my walls from the boys throwing their shoes around and I can't get them off. The baseboards are all nicked. DS has blue walls with black & gold drapes/bed spread because he refused to pack up his junk so I could paint his walls when he decided to change his decor. The painters would also have to pack up everything and then put it all back for me, too. (That's the worst part!)
