so whats there to do after the parks close?

Wow, does anyone have energy after visiting the parks for evening activities :lmao: Seriously, we always go back and sleep... but we are also traveling with a toddler!!

However, our childless friends always hit Downtown Disney until the wee hours, so clearly there is plenty to do "after" hours!

I know, I know. It can hardly remember the days when we used to be able to go to Pleasure Island all night and sleep in the next morning. Heck, I can't even remember the joy of sleeping past 7:30 am! Of course, those days were pre-baby. We'll be taking our first trip to Disney with my daughter (just turned 2) in April, and I think it will be the first time we'll be up early enough for the morning EMH.

Well that just makes me very happy, can you impagine being stuck somewhere and watching the last bus leave and you standing there with your mouth open? :scared1: Now I can relax, I think a nice dip in the pool after the long day of walking would be just the thing after the parks close!:)

Don't count on being wide awake - by the time you're done with all the walking and everything, you might be glad to just get back to the hotel to relax
;) ;)

Very good points. Also, if you're from the west like us, you'll be AMAZED at how the heat and humidity will wipe you out. And it gets dark there 3 hours earlier in summer than it does in Calgary (for example); 8:30 and it's pretty much night time. By the time Illuminations, Wishes or whatever is over you might just want to chill a little by the pool, watch a few minutes of the Disney channel and zonk out to do it all again tomorrow.

Couple of things to do after 9pm (not that my family can stay awake after attending rope drop)

-Watch the electric parade (may be after 9pm depends on what time of year it is
-Watch MK fireworks from Poly beach
-go exploring in other disney resorts to figure out where you will stay next time (the gift shops are open until at least 11)
-play in the arcade at your resort or another
-Swim in your resort pool (busy seasons open until midnight)
-do your laundry (not exciting but will not be busy)
-Walmart is 24 hours, grab a taxi
-Go out for desert

However keep in mind that the opening hours in the morning are a great if not the best time to tour the parks and get things done away from the crowds. If you are getting to a park for RD(that rope drop or opening) than you will be tired at night.
