We have been looking at the different DL Hotel rooms availale. At each hotel, there are the higher-priced concierge options.

Can anyone tell me what is entailed in the concierge service and if it's worth the extra cost?

Thanks!

This is a partial answer as I've not stayed in one. But, I was talking to reservationist about it, and I was told that at the DL Hotel, some of the perks are: breakfast set out in morning, snacks in the afternoon, and a wine and cheese set out in the evening. Also, when they are having fireworks, there is some sort of area you can observe and the music is piped in.

Now, is it all there? Don't know haven't tried it. If I can get a good deal on the room, I might, but it is a little above what I care to spend.

Any others have any first hand knowledge?

Lots of people use concierge and think it is a great deal and worth the money. I will never use it at Disney. You are payinf alot of money for a continental breakfast, a small buffet of hor-d'oerves and such in the afternoon and evening. There are wines and cordials and such. Sometime the room decore is upgraded and there are other nicer amenities. You can also have the concierge staff make reservations for lots of things for you and they can sometimes get you into places that you couldn't on your own. But the price seem so high for that kind of stuff. We always eat in restaurants in the parks, dont drink alcohol much and make our own reservations. We are either busy in the parks are relaxing in the room. It would be good for the breakfast but not $50-100 buck more per night worth! For those who have the money it can be enjoyable.

We stayed concierge for 3 nights in a 1 bedroom suite at the Grand Californian. Yes, it was quite expensive, but we enjoyed it so much that it was well worth the splurge! We were treated so well from the minute we pulled up to the hotel gate - we were greeted by name at the hotel entrance, escorted into the lobby and through checkin, and had wonderful service from the bellhop who noticed even before I did that we were not given the right room and called down to the desk and straightened things out himself. We did enjoy the coffee and bagels from the concierge lounge each morning, cold drinks throughout the day and dessert at night. The lounge staff was friendly and attentive. We only made 1 dining reservation through them, as we prefer not to preplan. We sat on the lounge balcony one night to watch the fireworks - a great view! I would have to say that our stay at the GC was probably our nicest hotel experience ever and although I'm sure we would have had a nice time regardless of concierge, the splurge made this trip really special. If you can do it - go for it!
