So what's it like to be at WDW when the temperature is cool?

I have my Internet start page set up so that it gives me the current weather in Louisville and the current weather in Orlando. :sunny:

Just noticed the following:

Current conditions as of 3:53 p.m. EDT
79 degrees
Feels like: 77
Humidity 25%

Wow! All the folks who are there today have great weather!

We've always had to go in the summer due to our schedules. Heat and humidity's a killer! How nice it must be to tour WDW when it's cool and comfy.

We like to go the first week of Feb. anymore. The weather does vary a lot, but we don't mind. The times we have gone it has mainly been chilly in the early morning and chilly again at night. We needed either a light jacket or sweatshirt. The days were mainly between 68-80 degrees, again it varied. Also, we were lucky and hardly experienced any rain. It sure beats the terrible heat and humidity! We do not like humidity at all, so that time of the year is perfect for us! We just have to pack double, because you need every type of clothing from shorts to jackets.

It's very nice, however, the evenings sometimes do get cold and I've been there when I was so cold I wanted to leave the parks before illuminations and go back to the room:confused3 -

Were from Miami, so were use to the hot weather. So any slight change for the cooler causes us to wear sweaters and pants, etc...
This past January we went and it was about a high of 59-61 something along those lines and we were covered up lol. I know its exaggerating but it was REALLY nice for a change to walk around the parks without a drop of sweat.

Our cheeks and noses were pink from all the cool weather. LOVED IT

I believe at night for Wishes it was in the high 40's... Froze my butt off! but again, its GREAT.

I was just there all of last week. Yesterday, It was 90 hot degrees. Today....in the 70s :guilty: AHH.

That's so funny. we are from WI and 40's are warm to us :rotfl2:

But the parks are great during cooler weather we would not do it any other way!

PS cute pictures :)

We've been to WDW the week following Thanksgiving the past two years and will be back same week this year.
On Dec.1 , 2004 temp was up to 80 and we spent the afternon at Typhoon Lagoon.
On Dec.1, 2005 we were at MVMCP and wore heavy coats and gloves when temp dipped into the 40's that night. Most days temps were up to low 70's, but can drop quickly when the sun sets.
It's a beautiful time to spend in WDW.

32 more days and we're back :woohoo:

One of my favorite movies is "Lawrence of Arabia." There's a scene where they talk about going across the hottest part of the desert--they call it "The Devil's Anvil." When it gets hot in WDW in the afternoon August heat and humidity, I think of that phrase--"The Devil's Anvil." :teeth: I've only been to WDW in August--it seems surreal to me to think of being at WDW in sweatshirt weather. Our next trip is tentatively scheduled for January '08--guess we'll find out then! :goodvibes

Yep, like in the 20's by 8:00 pm and dropping fast! We hesitated to leave Yakitori and our hot tea, but were rewarded with the least crowded Illuminations I have ever seen.

Once when we were there in February, we decided that paying $20 for a blanket in Mexico was a great deal. All five of us huddled under it to watch Illuminations.

Other than that, we were mostly fine with shorts and light sweatshirts in the mornings. On the days when we went back to our room before dinner, we switched to jeans for the evening.

It also depends when you go as to wha the hours are. If you're there during one of the less busy times, the parks don't stay open all that late.

The one time I saw Fantasmic, it was a cooler evening in March. It also started raining during the show, and it was rather windy. So the water effects also blew onto the audience. Maybe that's why we thought the show was just alright. We were all pretty happy when it was finally over.

Hi Colonel ... Glad to see you back and also that you posted a link to your dining reviews. I loved that thread because you took the best pictures, so thanks again for that. We visited the World this past January 1st week. It was crowded all week! Anyhow, temps were mainly in the low 70's for most of the week. We were all comfortable wearing long pants and short-sleeve shirts. We wore jackets on the way to the parks in the a.m., then stored them in lockers mid-morning. Had to get them back out when the sun went down at night. It was weird being at Disney in long pants and jackets, but it beats getting drenched in sweat and heat exhaustion when it's hot out. It was also a bit too cool to enjoy the pool; and we didn't go on Splash Mtn. or Kali, because it wasn't quite warm enough out to dry off. Hope this helped!

It showing on MSN weather right now our MNSSHP night the 30th is going to be a low of 48 with 50 % chance of rain. It was chilly the same time last year as well on some nights.

We went in January this year. Great weather! Some evenings we needed sweatshirts but mostly in was in the 70's.
Funny thing - we're also from the Louisville area - we were looking forward to escaping winter and the weather was the same in Louisville the week we were gone!

We were there in Nov of last year and it was nice. The one night we went to Fantasmic we FROZE and we bought beach towels at the show to wrap around us!! It was cold!

Our first trip to WDW was in August and I must say I've never been so hot in my entire life! Since then we always go in the cooler months and we love it. If it's cool or cold you can always add layers of clothing, but if it's really hot there's not much you can do to get comfortable.

We went the first of december last year and each day was a little different, but it was awesome, on those cool nights, to sit in the hot tub! We weren't even cold walking back to our rooms soaking wet!

Last time we were there in February - it was coooool! Lots of people wearing Disney fleece sweatshirts, goofy birthday hats, and mickey hands!

it can be cold....but it is always nice at WDW when it is cool. I have been when i have had to wear sweaters and coats, but it is still nice. I would rather be cold than sweaty.

I think BF and I will be far happier going in December when it's cooler than we would be going in the heat of summer. Both of us get hot very easily, and I would sure hate to be miserably hot our whole vacation. I guess we'll just bring a poncho for water rides!
