So, what's in your bag?

What all do you pack in your backpack? or Purse? or Stroller?

Last time I felt like I had way too much, so I'm trying to downsize.

I also don't want to bring an extra set of clothes for the girls (almost 5 and 3 1/2), but at the same time I know if I don't have it, I'll need it.

So far I've got
-Sunscreen
-Sunglasses
-Bacterial wipes for those nasty tables
-Wet Wipes for hands
-camera

I know I'm missing things because I swear last time I felt like I was carrying a suitcase on my back.

We don't pack heavy, but the things I carry not on your list are:
-band aids
-tissues
-cell phone
-chapstick
-disposable ponchos if rain is in the forecast (camping section at Target - $.78)

Nothing that I don't usually carry in my purse! And my purse is far larger than the little KVZ crossbody bag that I use for the parks. I carry a compact wallet, travel hairbrush/mirror, hand sanitizer, lip balm, a bandaid or two, and a thinpack of gum.

My first lengthy WDW resort stay I went overboard, thanks to reading DIS! I had a slingbag packed with first aid kits, moleskin, tissues, spray misters....oh god, it was insanity! I lugged that junk around for half a day and then kept it in the room. I never needed ANY of it. If you have kids, it's obviously a different story but for two 20-somethings, not much is needed.

I'm another one who carried way too much into the parks. But I've finally learned. I also carried small bags of snacks for the kids and a small pill bottle with tylenol and motrin in both children and adult strengths. I'm one that gets headaches easily and often times the kids would end up with muscle pain from walking so much.

I take a small purse to hold our room keys etc. But for the change of clothes and such, we rent a locker at the park and keep that stuff there instead of lugging it around the parks.

We try to really keep in simple. Band-aids, advil, rain ponchos, KTTW cards, comb/brush, camera, and chapstick

We don't do a bag if at all possible. We prefer the minimalist approach. Wallet with room key, ID and cash; wear sunglasses/baseball hat; carry (or slip into a pocket) a very small point & shoot camera (no case).

I bring a small shoulder bag/tote bag from home. It's made canvas, and I only paid 3 dollars for it, so it is something I don't care if it gets wet, or dirty. This is what I bring...

change of clothes for dd2 (a pair of cotton shorts and tank)
whatever else dh can think for me to carry

my bag has long straps so I put it over the handle bars of our stroller, and take in on the rides with us

I also pack a little soft sided lunch box with waters and snacks for dd which we keep in the bottom of our stroller

I also keep a zip lock bag with diapers and wipes in the bottom of my stroller

well we have switched over to using a fanny pack instead of the big camera bag

so in the fanny pack we have
camera
spare batteries for the camera
cell phone
room key and park pass
bandaids
waller (yep i pull it out of my back pocket and keep it up front in the parks)
some hard candy to suck on
spare pins for the kids to trade
and if i get tired of the sunglasses on the head i thorw them in there too

My mom carries a little purse that she can put over her shoulder like a messenger bag, with her wallet, cell phone, and our room keys/tickets. I carry a bigger messenger bag with my phone, wallet, video camera, and digital camera. I could use a small bag, but I like the bigger one because I can just stick most things we buy in there. If it's too big we send it to the hotel

KTTW card, band-aids, $20 cash, sunblock, hand gel and ponchos at minimum. If it's a day when I decide to bring the camera (digital SLR) then I bring a slightly larger bag and we can bring extra if needed. If we are going to watch a parade, I bring towels or a blanket to sit on. We normally go back to the room for a break in the afternoon, so there is no need to bring too much with us. When we get to the room I empty it completely out and repack it when we leave again. That way I don't get stuck carrying a bunch of garbage or stuff we should have left in the room.

Diapers/Pullups in a Ziploc baggie to compress them down

A change of clothes for my son, also in a Ziploc

I used to take an extra set of clothes per child. Now, if anything, I take an extra shirt. After lugging around clothes during the first trip and never needing them, I figured if it was bad enough that they needed new clothes, we'd either go back to the room, or I'd just pick up a souvenir I would have bought anyway.

Rain jackets, folded up tightly in a zip-loc ba
2 swimmers towels (there are 2 of us), they fold up into a small zip-loc bag also
Extra zip-loc bag for camera/cell phones on wet rides
camera + extra batteries + Gorillapod (small tripod)
Tylenol and Advil (travel bottles)
Sunblock, both a spray can and a tube
hand sanitizer
Tide pen (for food spills)
small packet of tissues
2 bottles of water per person
a couple granola bars
If I'm wearing sandals, a pair of flip-flops (I have PF and it helps to give my feet a break from the orthotics so I wear flip-flops for a couple hours in the evening)
If not wearing sandals, a spare pair of socks

All that fits in one small backpack (Target called it "ladies' size") for the 2 of us.

In our pockets we carried our KTTW cards, APs, chapstick with SPF, cell phones, and a small amount of cash.

I just packed my park bag today for tommorow! It has a water bottle tylenol gloves Disney credit card lip balm hand sanitizer antibacterial wiped cash liscence camera and the kttw card as soon as we check in !

Since this is our first trip, I'm not really sure. I hate to overpack, so I'm planning on taking a small Kavu bag that I use when we travel internationally. It keeps passports within reach, so I thought it would work good for WDW.

I plan on carrying:
KTTW cards for myself, DD and DH
Autograph book and sharpie
band-aids
If it's actually sunny, I'll bring a small bottle or sample packs of sunscreen
Advil
iPhone
iTouch for DD if the lines are long
Small point and shoot camera and maybe our Flip

We're using a stroller, so jackets can do in there. We won't be doing water rides in early Feb., so no need for a change of clothes.

Am I missing anything?

I bought a baggallini last year, and I love it. I haul a ton of stuff to the parks, and I don't feel the weight with it at all.

Here is what I usually carry:

Hmm. It depends. If we're planning on eating lunch out (either at the park or nearby), and I don't feel like bringing my camera, we just shove our Disney kit in a pocket of DH's cargo shorts.

Our kit is: band aids, pain relievers, spray on Neosporin and Benadryl, and Burt's Bees Lifeguard's Choice Lip Balm which can double for sunscreen, as well as disposable ponchos.

I always bring my iPhone for snapshots, maps, etc. My phone case is also a wallet, so my ID, credit card, and our tickets go in there. If I'm wearing a dress or skirt without pockets, I have a lanyard pouch I've knit to carry it around in. Fastpasses & Photopass go in the pouch on my pin lanyard.

I almost always bring my water bottle, which has a belt clip.

When we do bring a bag, we bring one of those lunch box backpacks to fill with snacks. It has a pouch on the outside that holds my camera perfectly, so on those days I bring my camera, too.

I'm going to try to sew myself a very small hipster bag later this week as an alternate way to carry my phone/wallet that will let me bring my pressed penny book, too, and give me a place to put my sunglasses when I don't need them (they tend to tangle in my hair if I put them on top of my head).

Lets see, I have a body-hugging bag that slings around my neck and one shoulder, so I don't have the dreaded fanny pack and I don't have to worry about using my arms to carry anything. In it is:
cell phone
small camera
small baggee of wipes (5-6 wipes max)
band aids (though I haven't carried them lately - rarely needed them)
the sunglass attachment to my prescription lenses - with a case
small hairbrush
chap stick
bottle o' drugs
KTTW cards, passes, and Disney Visa card

I do not carry sunscreen, we always just lather/spray up with waterproof sunblock before we go. We are quite fair skinned and never have had a problem, but I also enforce a "no tank top" rule at Disney, our shoulders are just too sensitive no matter what sunblock I use.

My kids carry small backpacks if it looks like rain, with the families raincoats in them, rolled up tight. This also has DD's pressed penny album, quarters/pennies, and autograph album/sharpie if she chooses to take them. DS's has his hearing protection if we expect to view fireworks. Hats and kids sunglasses get stuffed in there if we are travelling in the summer. Often the kids are carrying nothing but they are well trained that if the backpacks come with us, they are carrying them, I am not carrying anything else and they need to do their part.

We have been going since DD was 5 and DS 8 and have never taken extra clothing.

DH gets off easy, he rarely carries anything, but if he wants the DSLR or the video camera he gets to carry it.

ya that sounds pretty good but if u have a cell phone an u were not planing on bringing it i would bring it just in case an if any of the kids have glasses i would bring a glasses case for some rides just in case? i hope u have an awsome trip
