So, what would you do?

We are booked at POFQ for free dining in early September. I had considered upgrading to a royal room for only $100 more (total). DD would love it! However, we would have to switch to POR, a bigger resort. One of the reasons we chose FQ was because of the size, bus situation, and kid/toddler friendly pool (we will be traveling with a 4.5 y.o. and 18 mo. old). My question being, should I switch? Will I regret getting a room (although and awesome princess room) over the ease and convenience of a smaller resort? Are the royal rooms worth the switch? I keep telling myself dd will never know, but I think she would flip to stay in one. What do you all think? Thanks for the advice!

I think your reasons for choosing FQ in the first place are valid and still hold. The pool is great for kids. Riverside is nice as well, but rather spread out. As you say, your daughter will never know what she is missing. There is so much magic for a 4.5 year old, she'll have the time of her life anyway. Just my thoughts. Good luck with your decision!

I've stayed at both POFQ & the royal guest rooms at POR. I know it's a matter of opinion but we loved POFQ but we just liked POR. The royal room is nice and all but we only stayed in one for two nights & that was enough for us. My 6 year old did like the room though. We pool hopped to POFQ (they allow pool hopping within the two Port Orleans resorts)and my DD said that we have to stay at POFQ next time. It's just so much easier there with a child with everything being so close. Both resorts are nice so I'm sure you will be pleased with which ever resort you choose.

We haved stayed at both POFQ and POR (although not in the Royal Rooms). I liked both resorts for different reasons, but I would have to say that you should stick with your original decision. My girls were about the same age as your little ones when we stayed at POFQ and they loved the resort. The pool is great for the kids and my girls loved the fiberglass alligators that were marching just outside the pool area (hmm....I am sure they have an 'official' name for those alligators, but I don't know it :confused3 ).

I also liked the fact that the resort was smaller, which made it easier to get around. If you are dependent upon Disney transportation, it is nice because POFQ gets picked up before POR, so you are almost always guaranteed a seat.
