So what really is that smell on the monorail

I know the smell you are talking about and has nothing to do with the previous mentioned things.
It is a plastic smell and yes does have a kind of bandaid smell. I just know when those doors open to the monorail and I smell that smell, I know we are at Disney.
Like the smell when we walk into the Contemporary lobby for the first time, I know that we are at our second "home"!!!!!

I agree completely. Call me weird, but those specific smells that are only found at WDW complete the Disney feeling for me. Isn't the scence of smell the strongest sense in relation to memory anyway?
In regard to "monorail girl", although the pics are pretty tacky, "gross" is not the word I would use to descibe her !

I have always wondered about the smell! I relate things to the way they smell....and the monorail always has that familiar scent. Kind of like the smell of an airplane.

Now I know where the stinch comes from!

For all those interested, we were recently there and the smell was just awful. So one night getting off the monorail into Epcot, we asked and were told that they had recently put down fertilizer!

Could that explain it?

I checked out the site and I don't care what people do as long as I don't have to see it... I don't sit on toilet seats, so I do have a problem with the very undesirable woman on the TTA - yuck.

A while ago, I got flamed because I can get completely grossed out by some people. I get grossed out when I have to sit next to someone espically stinky or sweaty. I am always reminded of that Dial Soap commercial - not as clean as you thinK??? .

Now I feel justified in my "germophobia"

I believe in keeping what you do and who you do it too in the privacy of your home, not on a monorail or theme park ride! Call me a prude if you want, but I believe in respecting other peoples rights to enjoy their vacation also.

I could give a sermon on this one......but instead I will tell you that I agree whole-heartedly..........and you certainly are not a prude.

I would get flamed with you. I have strong gag reflexes and lots of things gross me out....snotty noses, boogers, big flakes in people's hair..or even worse - on their shoulders, sweat is a little gross, smelly bodies, greasy hair that you can fry eggs on, when people smell real strongly of cigarettes, bad breath............you get the idea. I don't mean it to be snotty or rude, that is just me.
