So what really is that smell on the monorail

We think it smells more like a cow barn, not human smell but like animals on there. It never used to smell that one, and just one trip we started to notice that the monorails all really stunk..even first thing in the morning when they are on their first runs...I am betting it is the recycled air now that I hear that they do it....

Okay, I was curious about this thread because I've always thought the monorail smelled a bit funky, (more like a horse or barn to me ) but I think now I will never look at those monorail seats the same again!!!

My husband is a former monorail driver and I asked him about the question at hand, b/c even I was curious after hearing about the "naughties" people have done in WDW. He said it's years of mold from the leaky air conditioning systems. No doubt, there could be other smells from those unscrupulous individuals who choose to not bathe and/or get naked in public, however the monorails are cleaned out and wiped down every night usually. Hope this helps, although the thought of inhaling mold seems just as troubling as smelly people.

I always thought it was mold from condensation from the A/C - didn't know they were leaking also. I always thought there was some body fluids/odor mixed in there to give it that particularly Barn-Like smell..... Sometimes that smell just about knocks you over!

i also thought it reminded me of a moldy smell. i also smelt the same thing this summer in COP.

It is sad that others who come to WDW (or other places for that matter), do so in the event to embarass themselves and their families by their behavior. What's even more sad is that they think their actions are "cool".
