Inspired by all the comments of people who just don't "get" designer handbags! Everyone has something they splurge money on, or even things they're willing to spend more on than someone else might.

I've already confessed I enjoy designer purses and shoes. I also collect Walt Disney Classics Collections figurines. Those are big, once in a while purchases, though. My everyday splurges are almost always books. I can always justify a book, or two, or three...

So what's yours? (This is intended to be friendly and light, not to make others feel bad.)

Before DD it was most definitely handbags and shoes.... and vacations. That came to a screaching halt 2.5 years ago.:scared1: I'm slowly starting to feel like I should treat myself now and then so I recently bought myself a pair of UGG Classics. I also used to love to buy books...but I have discovered the library so my thought is why should I spend the $ when I can read it for free..leaves me $ to spend on other things. I would have to say my recent indulgences are clothes..I need them..desperately. The one thing I absolutely have no wiggle room on is my facial cream. I'd work three jobs to pay for it if I had to. I use Kinerase.

Our every other year Disney trip, and not just saying that because we are on the DIS.

We have gone when we really shouldn't have, have charged it and paid it off later. We were OK with paying the interest to go. Some years were financially easier to go then others, but we saved and made it. Some trips were more on a shoe string and others were more of a splurge but we enjoyed all of them, love the memories of all of them. I know some people would disagee but we are the ones paying the bills and paying the interest.

DVC :goodvibes and my car there is nothing like driving that Benz down the freeway ! I do not get Starbucks or really eat out for lunch because I feel like I shouldnt LOL

My splurge is Disney... I forgo the designer anything to save to go.

I share vacations with my son which makes it worth while... plus I don't need designer stuff - I would cry if I messed it up or lost it. lol

yarn. I buy wool yarn because it's pretty even when I have no project in mind for it.

Travel/DVC.

And lots of cheapie purses. :) Used to have lots of cheapie shoes, but then pregnancy happened and my cute 7W shoes didn't fit anymore. Funny, how 8W isn't as cute...

We like to stay deluxe on our Disney vacations and try to go to Disney once a year. Also I must have a cherry coke in the morning and off brand cherry cola will not do!

For me, Vera Bradley, Uggs, and American Girls are my current personal indulgences. I feel as if I'm in a good place and can treat myself a little bit. Also, like everyone else, Disney, of course!

:rotfl2: That made me LOL!! Just try an 11, there is no way to make that size cute at all. There are some reallyyy odd shoes in the big sizes!

Honestly, I have so few indulgences. The week at the beach with my family is my biggest no negotiation, must happen event. I look forward to the 20+ hr drive each way all year. I quit a job because they were going to cut my leave when I went PT so I wouldn't have been able to go.

Everyday, it would be my Diet Coke and an occasional fast food lunch. Everything else is pretty much dictated by budget & convenience at the moment.

Well I guess splurge is relative. I mean, we drink bottled water because our water at home stinks even using filters, but I know some people would consider that a waste of money. :) I also think of our Kcups as a splurge since we coud be way less lazy and brew an entire pot for much cheaper (even though we still get the good beans).

I also buy a lot of sparkling wines (and the munchies required to go with them ;) ). On Saturday night there is nothing like popping in a DVD and sitting down with a bottle of fizz and amazing cheeses. Though I have started buying this really inexpensive cava that has gotten good reviews and I've even seen used at some upper scale restaurants for "champagne" cocktails. My big Christmas gift was a case of this stuff. Mmmmmm...

We also never, ever stay at someone's house when visiting family or friends. It is just not worth it from both a comfort standpoint and a privacy standpoint. So we always stay in a hotel. No matter how much I like someone, I need down time. And as guests, you have to be pleasant and make conversation as soon as you get up no matter how much of the morning-grumps you have, can't watch what you want on TV before bed time, and while you may be able to carry off wearing your PJ's in the living room, you can't take off your foundation garment when it starts poking you under the arm *cough* okay, well maybe some people can, but I'm not one of them.

Prescription glasses, 3 everyday pairs 1 transitions with uber thin light frames for cycling and trips and 1 pair sunglasses. All glasses have full UV anti glare anti scratch and current RX. I think the cheapest pair was 650. I love being able to change glasses it changes the way your whole face looks. I've already corrupted DD11 she has 2 pair already.

and that I strive to get the very best deal possible.
Do not spend much $ on clothing (only Talbots SALES), home, furnishings, cars.
We travel several times/yr...from a long weekend in Vegas to a week cruise to a week in WDW to 2 weeks with cousins in another state. I LIVE to travel...and luckily our children would rather have travel/experiences than STUFF (for the most part). Unfortunatley, HS sports makes the windows for travel MUCH narrower

Ours are our annual vacations to somewhere outside of the U.S.

I HAVE to go away every winter - I literally can not stand the thought of a long bleak cold winter without some break.
I am willing to forgo a lot, just so we can get to somewhere warm (even relatively warm!) and sunny. Most years it is WDW, one year it was DL, last year we went to Africa (there were "ulterior motives" but it was our winter vacation) but no matter what I *need* to go somewhere

I like to splurge on pampering items.... good brand name make-up, perfume, bath items, hair products, etc... I have far more than I need, but I love it, and share it. Those are my guilty pleasures :goodvibes

My major splurge is travel. That is where I spend all my money. I try to go somewhere in the summer and in the fall. I work an extra job sponsoring a science club at my school to finance my travel habit. I could live without it, but I look so forward to it. And I love the planning almost as much as the actual trip!

It would have to be traveling - we do not get to do it very often. I would love to get away every year, but right now it's every other year.
I would have to say for everyday living it would have to be movies, whether it's buying a new DVD or going to the theater. It's nice to be able to escape from reality for a little while.
Though if the truth be told I would LOVE to spend my money on designer bags and such but can't bring myself to buy them.
