So what is your best Peter Pan strategy?

So, of course, our favourite magical ride, Peter Pan isn't part of Genie+ and typically has 35-45 minute waits pretty well from beginning (with early entry for hotel guests at end of August) of the day to maybe just before closing. Wondering what the best time to just suck it up and get in line for a medium-high crowd day near the end of August. Is this ride open during the night time fireworks show? I don't want to go first thing in the day because of so many other rides that have short waits in the first hour of the day. Suggestions from experienced visitors?

I’ve had good luck riding it just before park closing with short wait times. It is also fun to have it as your last ride. Next week we will have a better idea of how early entry affects morning hours.

Peter Pan in my favorite ride, and no trip is complete without it

My best wait times were first thing in the morning or 10:30 at night. One time when I was staying at DLH and had early entry I took the monorail and headed staraight to Peter Pan and had a 20 minute wait. Generally I think Peter Pan just has a 30-45 minute wait all day. I had a 9 minute wait once when I got in line right after they'd opened after being down for 2 hours, but that was purely by chance. I'd just pick a time and commit to the wait. Maybe do all the other Fantasyland rides first and then jump in that line knowing that it will take a while.

There is someone on this board who is an expert at getting onto Peter Pan early, and the way he does it is by rope dropping. Hopefully he will see this and can give you some tips.

I’ve done it at rope drop and been maybe 7th in line? You have to move fast. Very quick. Not running per say, walking with extreme purpose.

Or get in line at the very end of the night. As long as you’re in line before park closing they will let you ride. So maybe hop in line at 11:58pm?

You may be referring to me . Yes, we often/usually rope-drop PP. I’m a fast walker and that’s your best bet. Occasionally someone will full-on run and ignore CM requests not to. Nothing you can do about that. But in short, if you’re among the first in the park and get to the front of the rope, you should be able to be among the first ten or so on PP . Hope this helps.

- Hovering around the entrance when the attraction is down but the vehicles are moving
- Waiting in the reopen line after Fireworks, MDE LL if the CM is being nice and letting you through.

Thanks, everyone. rope drop not an option, we have some younger kids who wouldn't be able to keep up and first time at DL, so I can't imagine them being able to focus on just getting to PP as soon as possible (plus it is an early entry morning for hotel guests). Guess we will just watch the wait times on Genie and at some point just accept we have a wait.

Fantasyland has a relatively low wait until around 10am. If you can get there before 10am, just head straight to Peter Pan. Short of right after fireworks when they reopen the land or late in the evening near closing time, you're not going to get a decent wait time. The ride is a slow loader. I would say if you get to the queue and it is only at the switchbacks, jump in line. If you have the Disney Play app on your phone, you can play the scavenger game when you enter the building where you search for pictures on the wood and when you see the lantern, can reveal Tinkerbell. Your kids will get a kick out of that. Makes the wait a little more bearable.

We used yo end our day with Peter Pan but now that we have a little one it’s rope drop for us since we’re calling it a lot earlier than we used to

I'm with everyone who tends to wait until the end of the night. The somewhat competitive nature of rope drop isn't for me and that tight queue in the sun would drive me crazy if I tried to do it any other time. I like to just wait until the very end of the night and usually make it my last ride.
